QUESTION 1

In the early 2020, COVID-19 has impacted Malaysia and brings radical uncertainty that
requires crisis management and policy responses by Malaysian government to mitigate and
manage the effects.

Elaborate four (4) achievements made by the Malaysian government in terms of social,
economy, politics, and health in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic.

QUESTION 2

Discuss four (4) elements of social change that are outlined by Steven Vago (2004) by
reflecting on the society’s experiences since independence in 1957.

Discuss five (5) stages of the policy-making process that is developed and run as a cycle
in nation development.

According to The World Bank (2020), global extreme poverty is expected to increase in
2020 for the first time in more than 20 years as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts the forces
of conflict and climate change which have slowed the progress of poverty reduction.

Elaborate four (4) challenges or problems faced by Malaysia in eradicating poverty due to
the COVID-19 pandemic.
