REF: :MTH800 MTP850 Antenna performance comparison.

To Whom it May Concern

Maintaining good RF performance and ensuring the coverage efficiency of communication

system goes hand in hand with the selection and positioning of the Portable Radio Antenna. A
number of simple and obvious factors can impact the overall performance of a Radio and
therefore reduce operating coverage of a communications system. This document is not
intended to address all conditions of usage but simply to present general recommendations for
the use and associated positions of the MTH800 and MTP850 TETRA Terminals. It outlines the
impact in terms of operational gain and sensitivity of the various portable antennas.

An important point to note is that the results and opinions expressed in this document are
based on Laboratory tests. Dramatic differences will occur when used in operational roles. In
operational roles the Antenna and Radio Terminal will interact with other equipment, for
example Body Armour and Helmets will have an adverse impact on the results. However the
undisputed critical factor in increasing performance is Antenna length.

The below figures present the Radio wearing position along with the graphical plot of the above Results
Table.

The plots clearly show the significant improvement in performance of the 80mm Antenna versus the
55mm Antenna, the Whip Antenna of course performs the best.
