1.5 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research is defined as a careful consideration of study regarding a particular concern or a problem

using scientific methods. Research is a tool by which they can test their own, and each other’s
theories, by using this antagonism to find an answer and advance knowledge. The formidable
problem that follows the task of defining the research problem is the preparation of the design of
the research project, popularly known as research design. The study is based on the facts collected
and observation made in the local people engaged in tourism in the district. The purpose of research
is really an ongoing process of correcting and refining hypotheses, which should lead to the
acceptance of certain scientific truths. Research methods refer to the tools that one used to do
research. These can either be qualitative or quantitative or mixed. Quantitative methods examine
numerical data and often require the use of statistical tools to analyze data collected. The research
methodology in a project report defines what the activity of research is, how to measure progress,
and what constitutes success

1.6 DATACOLLECTION METHOD

Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring data information or any variables of
interest in a standardized and established manner that enables the collectors to test hypothesis and
evaluate outcomes of the particular collection. The task of data collection begins after a research
problem defined and research design chalked out. There are mainly two types of data collection as
primary and secondary data. The data required for this study were collected from primary and
secondary sources. The two types of data are:
PRIMARY DATA: Primary data is data that is collected by a researcher from first hand sources.
It is collected with the research project in mind, directly from primary sources. The several
methods of collecting primary data are interviews, questionnaires, projective techniques,
observation method, schedule method etc…

SECONDARY DATA: The secondary data are those which have already been collected by
someone else and which have already been passed through the statistical process. The secondary
data can be collected from official reports of the Central, State and Local Governments,
Newspapers, Books, Periodicals Internet and Social Medias, DTPC offices etc...

1.7 DATA ANALYSIS

Data analysis is a process of inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modelling data with the goal
of discovering useful information, informing conclusion and supporting decision making. The data
both primary and secondary collected by us were analysed for the success of our project.

Tools for Data Analysis: Data analysis is done by the use of various tools. Data analysis tools are
defined as a list of charts, maps and diagrams designed to collect, interpret, and present data for a
wide range of applications and industries. Data analysis was done by taking, observing and
studying the answers given by the authorities, stakeholders etc…The list of graphs, tables etc…
were made based on this and suggestions and conclusion were made by considering these tools.

1.8 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

While conducting the study we confronted with many drawbacks. Some of them are given below:

Due to the effect of Covid 19 we could not conduct primary data collection effectively.
There faced a problem of generalizing the result to the wider population.
Since this study was a project work, time was a major constraint in this work.
In the case of data collection, non-cooperation of the informants was another constraint.
