The document outlines a process to shred and destroy production waste from food and non-food packaging to ensure it does not reenter the supply chain. Materials to be shredded include general process waste, non-conforming materials identified during quality control, and customer rejected items. The shredding process involves sorting materials, recording input and output quantities, and using a shredding machine to cut the materials into small, illegible pieces that are disposed of properly.

OBJECTIVE: TO ENSURE PRODUCTION WASTE RELATED TO FOOD AND NON-FOOD
PACKAGING IS DESTROYED OR DISFIGURED SUCH THAT IT CANNOT ENTER THE SUPPLY
CHAIN. 1) RESOURCES NEEDED i. Shredding machine ii. Schedule of work plan 2) MATERIAL WASTE TO BE SHREDDED i. All general process waste from printing, inspection, lamination, waxing, slitting and bag making processes ii. All non-conforming materials/products identified by quality control department during production processes. iii. All non-conforming materials/products received from customers as rejected material. 3) Shredding Process i. The non-conforming material is received from production processes or as customer rejected material designated for destruction. ii. The weight (quantity) of material is verified and recorded in shredding process docket. iii. The material to be shredded is sorted according to category or as per customer. iv. The material is shredded in priority according to the sorted categories with input and output quantity details recorded in the shredding process docket, which is verified by production supervisor. v. Ensure that all material designated for destruction has been destroyed completely and none has been misplaced during any step in the process. vi. During shredding the material is cut/disfigured and ground down into very small pieces that are illegible and irrecoverable, such that they cannot be used for packaging. vii. The shredded pieces are then securely collected and disposed appropriately.
