The modern structure mixes with the crossbreeding and colonial heritage where both national
residents and foreign visitors always find a place to work, enjoy and remember.
In this Tour, we will visit the most representative places of the Quito: Pululahua crater: The
Pululahua means "smoke of water" in the indigenous language Quichua. The Pululahua is an
inactive volcano and It is located in the 13,000 hectare Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve, which is
also home to thousands of plant species, and a variety of birds, mammals and insects. Pululahua
has one of only two inhabited craters in the world. Intiñan Museum: Her

e, tour guides recreate a series of physics experiments to demonstrate that the visitor is, in fact, in
latitude 0. You can see an egg balancing on the head of a nail, and how water drains in opposite
directions, depending on which hemisphere you are in. You can also learn about the pre-Columbian
cultures of the area. Middle of the world City: is a small and beautiful colonial town and as the
name implies, this town is located at the middle of the world, this is the site where, in 1736, the
expedition directed by Charles-Marie de la Condamine, made the measurements that demonstrated
that this was indeed the equator. It is the famous spot that allows you to happily take a picture with
one foot in the northern hemisphere and another foot in the southern hemisphere. Inside this town
the famous Equator Monument can be found. Within the monument you will find the Ethnographic
Museum, where, in addition to elements of the indigenous culture of Ecuador, such as clothing,
descriptions of the various ethnic groups, you will also find samples of the diverse flora and fauna of
the Galápagos archipelago. Lunch (local restaurant /set menu with 1 drink). Quito´s historic
center: Quito has the largest, least-altered and best-preserved historic center in the Americas, it is
the first World Cultural Heritage Sites declared by UNESCO in 1978. Narrow streets, buildings of
volcanic rock, monasteries, convents, museums, spice shops and baroque and gothic churches all
captivate and inspire visitors, as they enjoy this surreal and ancient part of the city. walking tour
(world heritage site). Independence Square: It is the heart of Old Town and the ideal place to
appreciate the daily life of many quiteños. It is surrounded by the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace,
the Municipal Building and the Archbishop's Palace. La Compañia Church: This is the finest
example of Latin American baroque architecture. The altars, pulpits, pillars, arches are all covered
with gold leaf. San Francisco Square and Church: The most imposing of all Quito's architectural
monuments, is at once a temple, a series of chapels, and a convent. All this together takes up
nearly two whole blocks, and rises up above a wide stone paved court, creating so noble an
impression that Ernesto La Orden called it the "Escorial of the Andes". La Ronda Street: La Ronda
is a traditional street representing bohemian art and old Quito. It is Quito’s oldest street and known
for food, crafts, and outdoor entertainment, especially at night. Santo Domingo Square: The
impressive construction work of Santo Domingo Church was built by Dominicans since 1580. The
architectural features are mudejar and plateresque and, in the same way as in San Francisco, they
combine in a gracious and beautiful whole. Church of the Basilica del Voto Nacional: one of the
country's biggest churches, almost 100 meters high (328 feet high). On July 10, 1892, the first stone
was placed. Between 1892 and 1909, the Heart of Mary Cathedral was constructed. The basilica
was blessed by Pope John Paul II on January 30, 1985, and it was consecrated and inaugurated on
July 12, 1988. The basilica is the most important work of neo-Gothic Ecuadorian architecture and is
one of the most representative of the Americas.}

Panecillo Hill: This natural elevation was baptized thus by its similarity with a small bread, it is

DAY 3-

***Please keep in mind that all activities are subject to National Park regulations***

Start time: 07:30 am

North Seymour
Breakfast at Hotel and you’ll be picked up at the hotel and transferred to the Itabaca Channel to board
the yacht that will take you to North Seymour Island. This place is great for hiking. There is a circular
path about 2 miles long that crosses the interior of the island and allows you to explore the rocky
coastal path. On this trail, you will be able to discover some of the largest seabird colonies in the
Galapagos Islands.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to observe the nesting sites of blue-footed boobies and the
bright and colorful frigatebirds that are visible throughout the year. These two species represent one of
the biggest attractions of Galapagos. The male frigates inflate their red chest when they try to attract or
draw attention to the females. These birds are also well known to steal food from the blue-footed
boobies, and other bird species for that matter. Additionally, you cannot miss the funny ritual dance
performed by the blue-footed boobies in order to win over a female mate, or how they find the perfect
pebble and place it by the females feet as a gift.

After lunch on board, we will go snorkeling and hopefully find sea turtles, Galapagos sharks, and
perhaps there will be sea lions playing around in the surf along the shore. After a few hours of this
activity, we will visit Bachas Beach. At this beach, you can choose to rest and/or swim in the wonderful
Galapagos waters. Tour will end at approximately 5:00 pm. Once more you will be transferred back to
hotel afterward.
