What personal and interpersonal skills are required for effective participation in recreation
activities?
Being aware of the health benefits of recreation activities makes people understand the
importance of physical activity and participate in them. Furthermore, the benefits include
encourages social interaction, improves concentration and increases personal confidence.
How does the development of physical skills support effective participation in recreation and
the development of personal health?
Development of physical skills provides you with a physically fit body, which prepares
you for almost any physical activity. Having a physically fit body includes improved
memory, and developed muscle strength and balance. This makes you perform effectively
and participate actively in recreation.
For improving emotional wellbeing, it helps you feel more confident, happy and relaxed,
with improved self-esteem and self-concept.
For enhancing social skills, it develop skills such as cooperation and teamwork, and a
great way to have fun, meet new people and develop friendships.
For physical, it improves health, encourages healthy growth and development of bodies.
For developing the spiritual aspect, it gives opportunity to be creative, to express basic
needs, and to be one’s real self, which allows you to feel alive and happy.
How can I support my participation and the participation of others in recreation activities?
Designing recreation activities as hobbies and done on a regular basis will make me and
the others actively participate in them. Also, showing acknowledgment and appreciating the
participants’ hard work and effort for their participation in the recreation activities will make
them feel more motivated to continue on.
