AI systems currently conquer the world and are primarily concerned with warfare. These mechanisms
must be implemented in a manner that fosters trust and understanding while also upholding human and
civil rights. The benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) in the economy and society have received a lot of
attention. However, the majority of it has been focused on technological demands or short-term trends.
The body of study for those trying to grasp the strategic implications of AI in the industry has been
sparse.They concentrated on digital transformation, taking cues from big tech and financial firms that
have demonstrated leadership in digital skills and better customer service. Recent advancements in
Artificial Intelligence (AI) have piqued the public's and media's interest. As AI systems (such as robots,
chatbots, avatars, and other intelligent agents) transition from being viewed as tools to being viewed as
autonomous agents and team members, understanding their ethical implications is becoming
increasingly critical. This chapter's objective is that the algorithms that regulate our lives must be open,
ethical, and responsive in accordance with stakeholders' shared values. A proposed model for AI
governance is described in this chapter. AI will pose challenges to government and society, necessitating
the development of new standards to protect humans, regulate machines, and reshape the industry
infrastructure.

The fundamental ethical challenges and moral questions related with the deployment of AI are
discussed in this chapter, as well as how AI ethics and governance could help speed up the
implementation of transformational AI solutions. The chapter opens by laying out a variety of potential
benefits that could result from using AI as a platform for discussing ethical, societal, and legal issues. The
chapter examines the possible implications of AI on the labor market in the framework of social
problems, with an emphasis on the likely impact on economic growth and profitability, the effect on the
workforce, possible effects on various demographics, along with a rapid deterioration of the digital
divide, and the repercussions of AI deployment on the workplace.The chapter looks at the influence of
AI on inequality and how the benefits of AI may be spread across society, and also topics like AI
technology centralization among large internet corporations and good governance. Privacy, human
rights and dignity, bias, and democratic issues are among the other societal problems discussed in this
chapter. To guarantee that the AI ecosystem is transparent, accountable, and understandable, our
governments, civil society, the private sector, and academia must come together to discuss governance
structures that reduce the challenges and possible disadvantages of AI and autonomous systems while

these concerns. It compares the current main frameworks with the main ethical issues, highlighting gaps
in mechanisms for fair benefit-sharing, allocating obligation, worker mistreatment, energy demands in
the context of environmental and climate change, and more intricate and less certain AI effects, such as
those involving human relationships.

significant knowledge gaps between system creators and customers and politicians. This chapter
presents a general conceptual framework for AI governance in order to close the information gap.AI
solutions must be appropriately planned, built, and implemented in order to achieve this. In contrast to
the terrifying ideas of a dystopian future depicted in the media and popular narrative, in which AI
systems rule the globe and are primarily concerned with combat, AI is now affecting our everyday lives
in ways that benefit human health, safety, and productivity (Stone et al. 2016). Transportation, service
robots, health-care, education, public safety, and entertainment are all examples of this.Nonetheless, in
order to prevent those dystopian scenarios from becoming a reality, these systems must be
implemented in ways that foster trust and understanding while also respecting human and civil rights.
The need for ethical concerns in the development of smart interactive systems has become one of the
most influential areas of research in recent years, resulting in a number of initiatives from both
researchers and practitioners, including the IEEE initiative on Ethics of Autonomous Systems1, the
Foundation for Responsible Robotics2, and the Partnership on AI3, to name a few.

nonmaleficence, autonomy, justice, and explainability. Governance Selfregulation should come from the
Generally Accepted AI Principles (GAAIP). Such principles, like the Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP), would establish a universal, cross-cultural core set that would serve as the foundation
for ethics. Professional AI ethics and governance training and certification are required.

Focusing on AI Ethics and Governance should be the way to navigate the future. The following topics will
be discussed in this chapter: What are the moral, societal, and legal ramifications of their choices? Is it
possible to hold an AI system responsible for its actions? How can these systems be regulated once their
learning skills have lead them to states that are only tangentially related to their initial, pre-programmed

how AI is changing AI end users' operational models, influencing strategic initiatives and competitive
dynamics, and posing policy problems. All in all, these proposals seek to identify and develop ethical
structures and systems that define human benevolence at the highest levels, prioritize benefit to both
human society and the environment (without putting these two goals at odds), and reduce the potential
and harmful impacts of AI — with an emphasis on building AI responsible and credible (IEEE, 2019).
