Basic Dance Steps in 3/4 and 4/4 Time Signature

INTRODUCTION
Philippine folk dance are traditional dances developed by our ancestors, and
passed from generation to generation. Furthermore, there are folk dances that are
imitating the movements of animals, and some, tells us the way of living and culture of
Filipinos in a particular region. Folk dance seems easy to watch but if you’re going to
perform it, you can say to yourself that it is difficult, hence, learning the basics is one
way to help you master a certain dance. In this lesson, you will know and learn to
perform the different basic dance steps in 3/4 and 4/4 time signature. These steps will
help the students improve their dancing skills especially in folk dancing. Moreover,
students will be able to appreciate and preserve one of our culture and that is folk
dancing.

 Identify the different steps in 3/4 and 4/4-time signature.
 Perform the different steps ¾ and 4/4-time signature.
