the country’s art. I use these words simply
Abundant Unique because these are what I feel and think about
our art.

These are the guide questions:
1. What do the pictures of arts present?
The pictures of arts present the different art forms in the Philippines. We can see the Manunggul
Jar, The Making of the Philippines Flag painting, and the Cinco Marias (Tres Marias Series)
painting. Furthermore, these arts reflect the Philippine’s culture, tradition, and the development of
Philippine arts.
2. How these arts reflect the Philippine’s culture and tradition and the
development of Philippine arts?
These arts are considered to be one of the foundations of our culture, tradition, and most
importantly, the development of Philippine arts. The changes and improvements we do with our
art always has an inspiration from the old art. As a Filipino artist, our compositions will reflect the
culture and tradition of art when we integrate the country’s signature characteristic of art.

1. Which among the elements and principles are present in the artwork above
that you think the artist wants to emphasize? Discuss 3 elements and 2
principles the artist applied to the artwork to call attention from the viewers.

The elements present in the artwork above are shape and form, color, value; the

principles involve are proportion and emphasis. First, we can spot geometrical and abstract shapes

having depths, and with these depths we can see the form. Next, the art has a recognizable warm

tone color incorporating the darkness of the value. In terms of principles, the elements in the art

are undeniably proportion, and the angry Christ between is emphasized.

1. How can you say that a visual artwork has movement?
Visual movement is dependent on the other elements and principles of art. Rhythm,
line, color, balance and space are all examples of elements and principles of art that can play a
major role in developing movement in a work of art.

2. When do you say that an artwork has harmony?


Harmony in art overall is achieved when the elements of an artwork come together
in a unified way. It has a peaceful arrangement of parts that give artwork a harmonic vibe the
colors, lines and shapes. Harmony is conveyed in several ways.

3. How can your knowledge of the elements and principles of art help you in
appreciating the mural painting of Carlos “Botong” Francisco entitled Bayanihan?
The knowledge of elements and principles of art I learned help me appreciate the
mural painting of Carlos “Botong” Francisco entitled Bayanihan through noticing that the artist
integrate elements and principles of art. I can use the knowledge I learned about the lements and
principles of art to identify why the painting serves a remarkable impact to me. Thus, having these
knowledge helps me appreciate and realize the value of an art.
