SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Explain what is content and contextual analysis of every
primary sources.
2. Explain the historical importance of the document;
Discuss the relevance of the documents in the history.
3. Evaluate the author’s background, main argument and
point of view in writing those historical documents.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Content & Contextual Analysis of Selected
Primary Sources

Reference: Internet (GOOGLE)

Materials: Laptop, Cellular Phone

III. LEARNING ACTIVITIES OR PROCEDURE

A. PRELIMINARIES
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Checking of Rules
 Review of the past lesson
(The teacher will call student/s to recap the past
lesson)
B. MOTIVATION
 Let the students read about the summary of the
certain document (The First Voyage Around the
World)
 Picture Analysis (The teacher will provide pictures
of the different authors from selected documents)
 C. ACTIVITIES
 Divide the class into four groups.
 Each group will follow the instruction in the given
activity.
 The teacher will check the work of each group.
(GIVE THE MEANING OF THE FOLLOWING WORDS:
1. VOYAGE
2. COMMONWEALTH
3. SELECTED POL. CARICATURE
4. EXPEDITION)

D. ABSTRACTION
 Proceed to the lesson which is “The Content &
Contextual Analysis of Primary Sources”
 Ask the learners about their ideas or knowledge
about the content of certain documents.
 Discuss the main arguments of each author.
E. APPLICATION
 The teacher is going to ask a question
regarding to the topic such as the following:
1. When and where did the first expedition
arrive in the Philippines?
2. Who are the main characters of the First
Voyage Around the World?
3. What is the intent of speech of President
Corazon Aquino? Give one.
IV. ASSESSMENT
 The students will answer the given
statements.
1. When and where the first Catholic Mass
held?
2. What is the contribution of former Pres.
Corazon Aquino in Philippine history?
3. What is the original name of Samal Island?
4. When did Magellan and his crew went to
Zubu(Cebu)?
5. Who is the former President who declares
Martial Law?
