II. RATIONALE:
Section 22 of DO 29 s. 2021 states that the last 3 days of the mid-year break
may be devoted for the conduct of the school-based INSET activities for the teacher’s
continued professional development and the preparation of Instructional Materials.
With the constantly evolving learning environment the pandemic has brought on,
there is a need to reassess and redirect professional skills learned pre-pandemic to
respond to these environments while continuing to deliver quality education and
achieving certain directives issued by the Department intended to measure school
effectiveness. This 3-day in-service training is intended for teachers to re-asses their
technical, quantitative, and analytical skills to improve student-performance data
analysis to determine trends and use this information to make adjustments to
academic programs and teaching techniques for Q3 and Q4.

III. TRAINING DESCRIPTION

This shall be a three-day capability building activity conducted virtually using
Google Meet with plenary sessions and break-out groupings with a maximum of 3
hours per morning and afternoon sessions. Group discussions including
brainstorming (D&B), coaching and mentoring, and hands-on activities (where
applicable or possible considering internet connectivity) shall be employed.

The training focuses on addressing the top 2 professional development needs of

teachers collated from their submitted Individual Professional Development Plans
(IPDPs) and the Office Performance Commitment (OPC) for SY 2021-2022. Plenary and
break-out group discussion and brainstorming will mainly cover data management
and documentation using MS Office programs and Google applications, maximizing
communication links with parents and students, academic ease and learners with
difficulties, and faculty action plan vis-à-vis BELCP PPAs.

The impact of the training will be assessed by the quality of the thematic
teaching plans, learning activities, and possible basic/action research which will be
developed/conducted for the 2nd Semester.

Aside from the daily evaluation tool, teachers shall be required to maintain
Journals for the 3-day activity reflecting on how the new knowledge they gained
changed their perception and how they would apply such in the coming quarters.
These shall be submitted by Feb. 9 to their Grade Level Coordinators who shall
summarize the reflections to be attached to the Accomplishment Report which in turn
will be submitted to the SDO on Feb. 11.
