1. Introduction

This proposal is prepared based on the request of SSWR to deploy new ATN 950B at Worabe (site
id 181300) as CSG site for SSWR IP RAN network. The new Worabe ATN(CSG) will be connected to
Sodo(181307) RSGs with 2x1G optical link each. In addition to that, downlink BTs sites are
identified to be transferred and additional layer 2 services are planned to be moved from
Butajira_02_CSG (181011) and terminated to the newly Worabe CSG. The main reasons for the
deployment of the new ATN at Worabe are:

1. To minimizes the number of affected downlink sites that create frequent service outage due
to lack of ring protection in MW.
2. To upgrade the site to IP RAN site which creates an opportunity to improve NAR in the
region and maintain business continuity.
3. To give flexible service delivery for any tailored solution requests from Enterprise
customers.

2. Physical Topology

2.1. Proposed Worabe (181300) IP RAN Link Topology

Currently, wireless downlink sites and fixed network nodes of worabe get services through
worabe RTN (181300) to Butajira_02_CSG (181011) IPBH node. Due to frequent mobile and
fixed line service interruption and the deployment of 4G/LTE in the sites, Worabe (181300)
site is proposed to upgraded to IP optical site with new ATN after the completion of the
deployment of DWDM node at worabe. So that, the optical transport network between
worabe(181300) and Sodo (181307) is required to connect Worabe CSG to Sodo_RSG as
shown in the proposed topology shown in figure 1 below. The link between the two IP node
sites will be Eth-trunk optical link with a multiple of 1Gs (2xGE).

All the identified BTs sites which are located downlink from 181300_RTN and planned to be
transferred to the new Worabe ATN (CSG) are currently aggregated to Butajira_02_CSG
(181011) IPBH node through cascaded links.

3. Material Required

One ATN 950B is required to install at Worabe (181300) as CSG site for SSWR IP RAN network. The
ATN 950B, Item code number NW10.01169, is an Enhanced System with CXP Protection with
56Gbps switching capacity and 6 flexible service interface board slots. As per this proposal, the ATN

950B will be install at Worabe and directly connected to Sodo_RSGs (181307_RSG_A and
181307_RSG_B) with 2xGE optical link each. Hence, the new link requires at least 2x4 SFP modules.

5.3 Interconnection and Service IP Address Planning and VLAN Assignment

All the downlink BTs that are prearranged to be transferred will be aggregated to the new Worabe
(181300) ATN through their nearby cascaded RTNs, instead of their current aggregation point at
Butajira_02 (181011) CSG. 2G, 3G, LTE & OAM Service and interconnection IP addresses as well as
VLAN IDs which were configured and used on Butajira_02 (181011) CSG are, for its simplicity,
planned to be used at Worabe (181300) CSG configuration. Additionally, layer 2 services that
needed to be transferred to the new worabe CSG are also maintain their respective VLANs
unchanged.

Note: VLAN is used to create sub-interface between RTN and Worabe ATN (CSG) for each BTS
connected to RTN.

5.4 RTN Management IP Address

The Worabe RTN which directly connects to Worabe ATN is used as gateway network element and
will have one management port that enables the RTNs reachable by NMS.

6. Installation and Configuration Procedure

II Configure Device Name, Loopback IP, uplink connection interface and RTN downlink
connection trunk and physical interface based on Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3 above.

III Since the Worabe site is the new ATN site, configure the basic configuration such as
Security, Management and MPLS and routing Protocols (AAA, SNMP, MPLS, TACACS-
Server configuration and etc).

IV Physically, Connect the Worabe ATN (CSG) to Sodo RSGs with 2x1G optical link for an
uplink connection and nearby Worabe RTN with 2x1G link. Additional 1G link to RTN for
RTNs management connection.

V Remove the selected BTs related configuration (2G, 3G, OAM, E&I and layer 2 service
connections) from Butajira_02 (181011) CSG site and configure on Worabe new
ATN(CSG) with the same VLAN ID, Interconnection and service IP addresses.

7. Sample Configuration

Remark:
 The subsequent configurations are samples to illustrate the basic ones. we
recommend to complete the service part depending on the services aggregated to
the new CSG site.
 Everything in RED should be removed and highlighted with yellow is

amended/changed.

8. Rollback

Since the deployment of new ATN at Worabe (181300) is required physical link connection as well
as series of configuration changes on Butajira_02 (181011) CSG and Sodo (181307) RSGs, we
recommend that the change is performed with coordinated manner.

If services are affected and not solved in time, we suggest to rollback and restore service. The
rollback allows recover the original service flow.
