Getting an A in AP Language during the COVID, distance learning year. It was so difficult to join zoom

every morning and write essays in 45 minutes. The multiple choice questions were hard and confusing,

I was getting scores that I wasn't used to. But, I got frustrated and decided to start practicing as much

as I can. I got an exam practice book and completed the entire thing. I managed to score a 4 on the AP
__________________________________________________________________________

test which is something I was also extremely proud of.

The comment would probably be that I'm kind, respectful, and focused on my goals.

I'm a hard worker and a good student who tries to participate in class and listen in on the

My oldest sister has influenced my life greatly, she's shown me the perfect example of what it's

like to be a successful and educated young woman. Without her help, I wouldn't know what classes

to take, how to apply for scholarships and colleges. She's helped me throughout every process

and given me amazing advice. Also, it's because of her that I want to major in biology. When I first

took the class, I was so lost and confused but she took the time to teach me it in a way that I could

understand and love.

Starting off with my parents, my father was a civil engineer in Iraq and my mother was a high school

teacher. They came to the U.S. and went to college for a few years but never finished. In the beginning,

we needed as much help as we could get, that included receiving food stamps and some college aid.
__________________________________________________________________________

Now, our status has much improved but my siblings still receive college aid as it's super expensive.

My eldest sister is a dental student while my second eldest is a pharmacy student. They both came at
__________________________________________________________________________
an older age and still worked their way up through the education system. They did this while managing
__________________________________________________________________________

to learn an entire new language and culture which they have succeeded in doing so.

I've tried to be involved in multiple school clubs and activities. I'm a part of NorseCrew, the Red Cross

Club, Key Club, CSF, Save SD, Youth for Truth, and more. I've even gotten CPR certified this year, and

have tried to gain volunteer hours through programs like the Red Cross and the SMART Heart Save
__________________________________________________________________________

Save a Life program. I'm also hoping to get the Gold level for the medical health pathway.
