GOAL

Is it possible to fetch the Payroll Balance from the Element Input Validation Formula.

SOLUTION

Element Input Validation Formula type supports only certain Contexts.

Balance Database Items (DBIs) will need additional contexts that are not supported in the
Element Input Validation Formula.

It is not possible to reference such Balance value during element entry using Element Input
Validation formula.

PAY_BALANCE_PKG can be used to evaluate balances in BI Publisher Reports/SQL queries.

There are no formula functions available for PAY_BALANCE_PKG.

Even if it is provided, it will need additional contexts not available while running the element
entry input validation fast formula.
