Moodle - Drill 4 - Introduction To Differentiation (Delta Method)
A. Find the derivatives of the following functions by using the delta method:
1. 𝑦 = 𝑥 % + 4𝑥 − 4
)
2. 𝑦 = * + 3
3. 𝑦 = √𝑥 + 2
B. Show your complete solution for the following problems. Give your answer in slope-intercept form.
1. Work out the equation of the tangent to the curve 𝑦 = 2𝑥 % − 𝑥 + 1 at the point (1,2).
2. A curve has equation 𝑦 = 𝑥 / − 5𝑥 % + 9. Work out the equation of the tangent line when 𝑥 = 2.
