This revision to the RE100[XL] Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Field Service Monitor (FSM) software was
produced to accommodate operational refinements, the ability to use with newer laptop operating
systems (Windows 2000, NT, XP & PRO), and to enable USB connectivity in the absence of serial
ports on newer computers. Please follow the accompanying instructions to install your new copy of the
FSM software. Note that RE100[XL] FSM and the recommended "I/O Gear" USB to serial adapter
software must be installed (with the USB adapter plugged in) prior to verifying or changing computer
port settings. The communication port settings must be configured to "Com Port 1" or the FSM will not
function. General guidance on how to accomplish this is included.
1. Load the FSM software compact disk (CD) into the computer or download the software
from Honeywell’s eEngine website at https://www.e-engines.honeywell.com. If you have
previously installed the Keithley driver, you can re-install it by following the instructions in
this section or skip to section B.

4. Wait for Unzip to complete and press OK when prompted by the WinZip Self-Extractor.
5. Double-click the Setup.exe file located in the Keithley folder in the path C:\Temp\Keithley
in Windows Explorer.

1. Connect your computer’s serial port to the serial port on the aircraft. If your computer
does not have a serial port, skip to section F to install a serial to USB adapter.
3. Double-click the FSMWinMon desktop icon. This will bring up the Engine Model selection
screen.
4. Select the RE100[XL] engine model. Several windows will open, including the Receive
Label window, the Fault Display window, and a small window with several Hotkeys.
(Note: A fault may be displayed if the monitor is not currently connected to an APU
electronic control unit [ECU] or is connected to an ECU with the power off.)

5. If all three windows display properly, with no faults present on the Fault Display, and
numbers (not a series of XXXXXs) displayed on the Receive Label Window, the FSM
software has installed correctly.

1. In order to manually change the value of APU Hours, press the UpdateHours button on
the HotKeys bar. A new window will open up.
(Note: The APU Update Hours is a new feature included in ECU 2119552-4. This
feature does not function in ECU 2119552-3.)
SE-01-1224
2. Enter the desired number of APU Hours using the on-screen numeric keypad (typing
numbers on the keyboard will not work) and then press Update Hours. A progress bar
will move across the screen and will display the updated value of Current APU Hours
when complete.

2. Follow instructions in accordance with I/O Gear installation instruction sheet provided in
ECTM kit.
G. PORT SETTINGS
Computer communication port settings must be configured for Com Port 1 operation or the
monitor will not communicate with the engine control. Verify proper port settings as follows:
1. Install USB Adapter into computer USB port prior to checking port settings.
5. In the Device Manager window, locate Ports (COM & LPT) and click on the + symbol to
the left to expand the computer port list.
6. If (COM1) is indicated to the right of “Communications Port", the port setting is correct. If
not, right click on Communications Port (COM?). Left click on Properties. Select the Port
Settings tab. Click on the "Advanced.." button. Left click on the down arrow on the COM
Port Number box, select COM 1 and click OK. COM 1 is required and should be selected
whenever FSM/ECTM software is to be used. You may need to restore previous com
port setting to restore proper operation of other resident software installed on your
computer.

Now this box pops up. WOW is TRUE because you set the Signature Pin to 1. Follow the instructions
to update hours.
NOTE: If you enter say 2389.0 hours you will see 2388.9. This is normal until the update is finished
and the APU Master is recycled.
Thank you for using the Honeywell FSM System with your RE100 APU. If you have any questions or
