FIRST TERM ENGLISH EXAM

PART ONE : READING

Read the text carefully then do the activities

Dear Lina,

I have found your address on the internet this morning, and I am so glad to correspond with you.
I am curious to know more about you, yet I have to introduce myself first.

My name is Jane . I’ll be 17 next month. I’m a student at Kennedy High School in New York , and
I’m into learning about different cultures.

On weekdays, I usually wake up around 7 a.m. to prepare myself for school which is rather close to
my house, thus I go there by foot. In the morning, I generally walk my little brother Jimmy to his
school. On weekends, I rarely go out. I prefer to stay at home to do my chores and homeworks.

My city New York is very famous for its high towers and green parks. My dad sometimes takes me
and Jimmy there to play and meet new friends. That’s all for now. Please don’t hesitate to e-mail me
back.
