SUPA Guidelines - BA
1. INTRODUCTION
Association of Positive People for Living Excellence - Apple is a non-profitable community-based
organization for people living with HIV/AIDS in West Godavari District. Ten people living with
HIV/AIDS who experienced the stigma and discrimination and other related consequences came
together and stared working collectively with common vision in West Godavari District during the year
2002 and got registered under the Societies Registration Act 35 of 2001 on 15th September 2003 named
as “Association of Positive People for Living Excellence” (APPLE).
APPLE has merged as a district level network, affiliated to Telugu Network of People Living with
HIV/AIDS. J. Siva Krishna is the President of the organization. APPLE created a floor for voicing and
advocating various issues related to People Living with HIV/AIDS in West Godavari District and
extended its support services through providing counseling, medical treatment, positive living, support
group meetings, capacity building and etc.

1. INTRODUCTION
The PGDM of Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME) requires every
student to undergo social training with the objective of gaining knowledge and experience of
involving directly in Socially Useful and Productive Activities (SUPA). As SUPA exposes
students to social responsibility coupled with socio-economic issues through their induction
and working at an NGO, it must be carried out with all seriousness and exemplary
commitment with a mark of distinct quality. This manual is prepared by SUPA Cell of XIME
with an intention to depict clearly as to how course and the report should be prepared.
2. REGULATIONS
1. SUPA commences as and when the final term examination for Term II is over and be
submitted well within the first two weeks from the commencement of Term III. The student
shall be encouraged to choose an NGO of their accessibility or be assigned by the SUPA
cell of XIME. However, the students can take up NGOs which is in existence for at least
5 years.
2. Duration of the SUPA programme will be for a minimum of three weeks, within the period from
28th Jananuary 2022 to 13th February 2022.
3. A work diary is to be maintained by the students of their activities at the NGO/Work place. The
Weekly report (See Annexure 7) should be submitted to the SUPA Supervisor at the end of every week.
Failure of submitting the weekly report on time may disqualify you from completing SUPA.
4. Students are required to collect a Certificate from the NGO after completion of the work
5. Photographs of student activities at the NGO/ work place must be attached with the report.
6. Students are required to submit a 2 minute video presentation about their SUPA activities- (should be
uploaded in their official mail id drive and link can be shared to the mentors) along with the report.
7. Students are required to prepare the Individual Report, the format of which is available in the Library
and submit the same to the college before the deadline (deadline shall be intimated later).
8. SUPA carries a maximum of 100 marks, the evaluation of which shall be made On
the basis of the quality of report (40+20 Marks), viva-voce examination and feedback
from NGO (30+10 Marks).

Project Report of SUPA should be as per the following format and size. The sequence given below should be
strictly followed:
1. Cover Page & Title Page: A specimen copy of the cover page & Title Page of the
dissertation are given in the specimen (Title page should be in Sky Blue Colour)
2. Bonafide certificate: The Certificate shall be issued by the Supervisor in double line
spacing using font style of “Times New Roman” and Font size of 14 as per the format
3. Certificate from NGO: The certificate received from NGO on the completion of SUPA
is mandatory. The certificate should carry the period of internship and your attendance
and performance.
4. Declaration of the Student: Declaration to be given by the student in one and a half line
spacing and Font size of 14 as per the format.
5. Acknowledgement: It should brief and should not exceed one page in double spacing
Acknowledge the contribution of the NGO executives, Supervisor and other faculty
members, librarian, parents and job typing personnel and so on as you like.
6. Table of Contents: The title page, Certificate and Declaration will not find a place among
the items listed in the Table of Contents. The page number for the list of tables, list of
figures,
list of abbreviations and acronyms and abstract, should be in lower case Roman letters.
7. List of Tables: The list should use exactly the same captions of tables as they appear in the text
8. List of Figures: The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear above the tables
in the text
9. Abbreviations and Acronyms: Expansion/explanation for abbreviation/Acronyms should be
written under this head.
10. Executive Summary: Executive summary is an abstract of the project report, not exceeding
300 words typed in one and a half line spacing, Font style Times New Roman and Font size
12. The executive summary should be written to accommodate Objectives (2 lines);
methodology (three lines); major findings (10 lines) and conclusions (5 lines). Nonetheless,
abstract should not exceed two paragraphs.

11. Organization of the Report: The chapters may broadly be divided into five. The number of pages per
Chapter is approximately given.

In addition to writing of your observations, field work experiences, and focus group discussion, the report shall
include the following components:
1. Typing should be done on one side of the A-4 size executive bond paper.
2. The left side margin should not be less than 1.5 inches, the right top and bottom
margin should be 1 inch.
3. The text of the project should be 1.5 spaced in Times New Roman; quotations and foot
notes should be in single space.
4. Chapter heading should be capitalized and should be kept at center. Section heading
& subdivision headings should be typed on the left hand margin in title case, say for
example, Women Development Initiatives.
5. Tables, graphs and diagrams should have respective number, captions and source.
6. All pages in main text except prefatory items should carry the Arabic numerals placed
on the bottom at the centre. As already mentioned, Title page, Acknowledgement,
Table of contents etc. should be numbered in lower case Roman numerals.
7. Numbering of chapters, divisions and sub-divisions should be done, using Arabic
numerals only. For example, sub-division 3 under division 5 of chapter 1 should be
numbered as 1.5.3.
8. Table and Figures appearing in the main text should have appropriate numbers and
captions. If there is a First table in Chapter Three, the number of Table should be
assigned as 3.1. Table and Figures should appear at the centre.
7. PLAGIARISM
Any attempt to copy from another (present or Previous) student or to copy large chunks
from NGO annual reports, academic or other sources without approximately referencing
those sources will trigger the action for the offence of plagiarism. If anyone is found
guilty, XIME will initiate stern action. All the material that relates to the report, including
completed questionnaires or tapes from interviews, video clips should be shown to the
supervisor and be kept by the students until the Institute has declared the results.

Format of Weekly Report
NB. Ensure that you submit the report to the supervisor every week.
At least three reports have to be submitted to the supervisor before submitting the final draft.
