CONTENTS
1. Introduction:
The Mumbai- Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR Bullet Train) project is the first of its kind in
India. With total twelve stations in the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Union Territory of
Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the corridor will have a length of 508.17 Km. This will cover 155.76 kms
in the state of Maharashtra (7.04 Kms in Mumbai sub-urban, 39.66 kms in Thane district & 109.06
kms in Palghar district), 4.3 kms in union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and 348.04 kms in the
state of Gujarat. High speed rail will be operating at a speed of 320 Km/hr at an elevated (10 to
15 m) track above the ground on a viaduct all along except 26 kms in Mumbai, which will be
underground. All stations will be elevated except Bandra Kurla Complex station (Mumbai), which
will be underground. It will cover a total of 12 stations namely Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, (in
Maharashtra), Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati (in
Gujarat). The C6 package which consists of 87.425kms of viaduct has been awarded to L&T TI
IC. The C6 Package runs elevated from Vadodara to Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat and
consist of 1 station at Anand in Gujarat. This report presents the details about the Independent
NABL Approved Laboratory – Delhi test House (Delhi)
The project starts from Vadodara (ch. 401.900km) and ends at Ahmedabad (ch. 489.498km). The
total length of the project corridor is 87.569 km. The alignment is completely on viaduct. There
are 21 crossing bridges across the alignment including 4 river bridges namely Mahi, Mohar,
Vatrak and Meshwa. Index map showing location of the project stretch is presented in Figure 1-1.

2. Scope:
This document presents the necessary details about the proposed Independent Laboratory for
Soil and all type of Construction Material testing- Physical, Chemical, and mechanical properties
related to Structure & Roads.
Within 56 days after for the Commencement Date, in accordance with requirements of Sub-
Clause 5.1 [General] and having due regard to the matters described below, the Contractor shall
submit to the Engineer for approval details of any Independent Laboratory to be used. The
proposed laboratory shall be independent and impartial and shall implement a system to ensure
that information related to the Work remains confidential.
