Setup
1. If using preset scenario, ships, locations and conditions should be available. If not, roll initial
conditions for game area (typically 200 nm squares). Use Seekrieg WeatherChart to log
this data.
2. Determine length of weather interval.
3. Determine search turn length if not provided by scenario. Chart U1 provides movement
distances for different turn lengths.
4. Fill out ship log forms for vessels being used in the scenario.
5. Indicate number and types of aircraft aboard aircraft carriers.
6. Additional useful information to calculate and add to ship log form
A. Armor reductions according to Chart Q1.
B. Reverse Speed.
C. Ship anti-aircraft gun AA factor director/radar mods Use SeekriegAid.xls
D. Total ROF for gun batteries
E. Aircraft total flight times
F. Note fire control and radar systems for the ship
G. Specify shell loadout - number and type
H. Specify torpedo loadout
I. Superstructure armor thickness
J. Simple diagram with locations of weapon mounts
7. Distribute copies of charts for area depicted in scenario to each player
8. Each player determines initial ship formation
9. Plot initial positions on graph paper

1. If a weather interval has been reached, move existing weather and roll for new conditions.
3. Each player marks new ship positions on their own overhead transparency.
5. If a contact occurs, referee should provide contacting player with available information.
A. If player decides to shadow, maintain Search Phase with shadowing orders.
B. Otherwise, place spotted ships on table or markers if still unidentified. Go to Battle
Phase.
