ABOUT ITI
LEEA
In 2012, ITI underwent a string of audits and evaluations to become
an Accredited User Training Company according to the Lifting Equipment
Engineers Association.  At the time, ITI was the first professional training
company in North America to be Accredited by LEEA.
The process entailed:
1) A corporate audit of ITI as an organization.
2) A complete audit of all ITI course curriculum and examination processes.
3) Individual presentation skill audits of all ITI Instructors.
4) Facility audit(s) to determine compliance of ITI Training Centers.
The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is established as the leading
representative body for all those involved in the lifting industry worldwide.  The
Association has played a key role in this specialized field for over half a century, from
training and standards setting to health and safety, the provision of technical and legal
advice, and the development of examination and licensing systems.

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES
Introduction
The Master Rigger Course is generally recognized as the premier rigging training
option in the industry, with over 30 years of customer demand to back the claim.
The Master Rigger course has served those who have sought the “next level” of
information and technical knowledge when it comes to rigging and load handling
operations. The course exposes participants to a variety of equipment and applications
which include multiple crane lifts, load turning with chain hoists, jacking and rolling using
mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, incline planes and managing the center-
of-gravity in all three axis.
Master Rigger follows a “learn it, see it, do it” format. Learning objectives are introduced
and expanded upon during interactive classroom sessions (learn it). Students work in
small groups in the training center, or yard at client locations, where instruction continues
amongst the equipment and tools that will be used to conduct various load handling
workshops (see it). Finally, under the guidance of highly experienced and highly skilled
instructors, students will complete learning objectives with live loads (do it).

Purpose & Scope

Master Rigger ultimately aims to enhance the participant’s knowledge base and increase
skill levels by utilizing a variety of sophisticated rigging equipment to solve challenging
load handling tasks. The scope of the course is refined to classroom interactive problem
solving assignments and hands-on team projects that best deliver the most thorough
understanding of advanced rigging principles and applications in the shortest amount
of time.

RIGGER & SIGNALPERSON QUALIFICATION

Course Schedule
Open enrollment Master Rigger courses at ITI Training Centers follow the
following schedule:
• Days 1-4 Master Rigger Course
• Day 5 Rigger and Signalperson Qualification Exams (Optional)
Written and practical exams are administered by qualified ITI Examiners. Candidates who
successfully pass the exams will receive a 5-year ITI Qualification. The qualifications meet
the requirements of OSHA for both riggers and signalpersons. Rigger and signalperson
qualification is optional, and the exams do carry a separate fee.
Rigger and signalperson qualification can be administered at client locations as well,
and do not require the Master Rigger course as a prerequisite.
