Remember:

1. Use long bond papers at least 70 gsm. But for best results use 80 gsm.
2. If possible, print them with colors. It would make reading the words and answering the activities more fun for
students.
3. The pictures designated for the letters should help them remember the sound of the letter. Make sure to start
by introducing the name of the letter, then the picture assigned for it and then the sound.
4. Blending of the Katinig+Patinig and Katinig+Patinig+Katinig are essential for when they start reading in English so
do not skip them!
5. For practice reading, cover the pictures and only reveal them after they have read the word.
6. If the students can’t finish a complete lesson for a certain letter, that is perfectly fine. It’s not your fault nor the
child’s fault. Kids progress in different paces.
7. Reading is a skill. It must be practiced everyday! Not once, twice or thrice a week. Everyday practice is the key.
Partnership with parents are very important.
8. This is just the initial draft. Please send me suggestions, comments or reactions on the booklet so that it can be
better improved.
9. Enjoy teaching and your students will enjoy learning!
