INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Being a senior high school student, budgeting is a big challenge. Being in this stage is
both privilege and responsibility. One of the students’ responsibility is budgeting their allowance
and being a wise spender of money. To be a responsible student towards budgeting and being a
wise spender of money is not something that could be achieve overnight. It must be put in mind
and to be an attitude.
Budgeting is the process of preparing detailed projection of future amount. (Harold

Statement of the Problem

This study seeks to determine the attitude of Senior High School students of Boracay
National High School towards spending and budgeting their allowance.
1. What are the attitudes of students towards budgeting and spending?
2. How do students budget and spend their allowance?
3. Why budgeting must be an attitude?

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study focuses on the attitude of the Senior High School students of Boracay National
High School towards budgeting and spending their allowance which is located in Balabag,
Boracay, Malay, Aklan and the researchers used a survey questionnaire to gather the data
needed.

METHODOLOGY
Research Design
The researchers, used a survey non-experimental which identifies the attitude of the
Senior High students of Boracay National High School towards budgeting and spending their
allowance which answerable by multiple choice and their own opinion about their attitude
towards budgeting and spending their allowance which we are seeking answer on the
questionnaire. All of this can be obtained through the results of the instruments used.
Locale of the Study
The study conducted at Boracay National High School compose located in Balabag,
Boracay, Malay, Aklan.
Respondent of the Study
The respondents of this study are the Senior High School students of Boracay National
High School residing in Boracay, Malay, Aklan.
The respondents are the Senior High School students of Boracay National High School
with a total number of 274 students. Out of this number, we selected 30 students in Grade 11 and
30 students in Grade 12 who is currently enrolled in Boracay National High School. The
researchers conducted a survey questionnaire to gather the data needed.
Sample Size and Sampling Techniques
The researchers used a simple random sampling which the researcher used a lottery
method to select the participants.
Research Instrument
The researchers’ used survey questionnaire for collection/ data gathering/ information
needed to find the answer on the problem of the study.
Data Gathering Procedure
Before survey
Before conducting this study, the researcher identifies the respondents of the study; the
researcher creates a questionnaire of the study to get the information needed and a summary plan
of the study.
During Survey

The researcher conducts the questionnaire to gather the data needed, consolidate the
questionnaire for respondents for validation and correction.

After Survey
After conducting a questionnaire to the respondents, the researchers’ data gathered will
be organize, validated and interpreted.
