Warnings for TS Inlet (N1)
UCS-79: The extreme fiber elongation exceeds 5 percent and the thickness exceeds 5/8 inch;. Heat treatment per
UCS-56 is required if fabricated by cold forming. (warning)
Appendix 1-10(d): Di / t = 17.375 / 0.125 = 139 > 100 and nozzle projection = 5.9375" < 3*(Rn*tn)2 =
3*(7.0005*0.9995)1/2 = 7.9356". Strain redistribution may cause distortion (ovaling) of the nozzle neck and flange such
that a proper seal at the bolted flange connection cannot be obtained or maintained. Division 2 Part 4.5 performed per
U-2(g). Optionally, Appendix 1-7 may be used for radial nozzles by selecting the option in the Areas dialog. (warning)
Nozzle thickness in excess of three times the vessel plus pad thickness (tn = 0.9995" > 3*t = 3*0.125 = 0") is not
recommended and may produce excessive secondary stresses in the welds. (warning)
Nozzle thickness in excess of three times the vessel plus pad thickness (tn = 1.062" > 3*t = 3*0.1875 = 0") is not
recommended and may produce excessive secondary stresses in the welds. (warning)
Nozzle does not satisfy the specified minimum projection length of 6.0000" (warning)

Hydrostatic Test
Shop test pressure determination for Tube side chamber based on MAWP per UG-99(b)
Shop hydrostatic test gauge pressure is 36.221 psi at 70 °F (the chamber MAEP = 27.863 psi). External pressure
governs the test pressure per UG-99(f).
The shop test is performed with the vessel in the horizontal position.
Notes:
(1) Front Head limits the UG-99 stress ratio.
(2) PL stresses at nozzle openings have been estimated using the method described in PVP-Vol. 399, pages 77-82.
(3) VIII-2, AD-151.1(b) used as the basis for nozzle allowable test stress.
(4) The zero degree angular position is assumed to be up, and the test liquid height is assumed to the top-most
flange.
The field test condition has not been investigated for the Tube side chamber.
Shop test pressure determination for Shell side chamber based on MAWP per UG-99(b)
Shop hydrostatic test gauge pressure is 72.96 psi at 70 °F (the chamber MAWP = 56.123 psi)
The shop test is performed with the vessel in the horizontal position.

Notes:
(1) Port Cylinder (front) limits the UG-99 stress ratio.
(2) NI indicates that test stress was not investigated.
(3) PL stresses at nozzle openings have been estimated using the method described in PVP-Vol. 399, pages 77-82.
(4) VIII-2, AD-151.1(b) used as the basis for nozzle allowable test stress.
(5) The zero degree angular position is assumed to be up, and the test liquid height is assumed to the top-most
flange.
The field test condition has not been investigated for the Shell side chamber.
The test temperature of 70 °F is warmer than the minimum recommended temperature of 10 °F so the brittle fracture
provision of UG-99(h) has been met.
