THE TEACHER AND THE SCHOOL

CURRICULUM

 The present rules and policies should be followed regardless


of the relationship with the past.
 Society has this label ever since to the teaching profession.
They looked up to this profession as based on your
observation and experiences.
 The rest forms needs to be forwarded to the substitute
teacher to continue the record and evidences of the students’
performances.
 Two bureaus - bureau of elementary education and
Secondary education
 Motivation - the teacher is setting the mood of the students
leading to open their minds on what to learn.
 Modify the materials - Prepare another set to suit the level of
needs, interests and capabilities of the learner.
 Principles of Sequence : Pre-requisite Learning,
Chronological Learning, Whole to Part Learning, Simple to
Complex Learning
 There are other forms where services rendered beyond
official hours required are compensated: 8 hours a day,
Service credit and Overload Pay
 Placement - A test given to a student entering an educational
institution to determine specific knowledge or proficiency in
various subjects for the purpose of assignment to appropriate
courses.
 There are competencies and skills that are lacking. ( A
provision for mastery of subject matter by the child who is
retained
 Perennialism - Constant / fix / unchanged
 Progressivism - It connotes growth and development. In this
manner, Learning comes best when things are being
experienced, that is learning by doing things. It involves
participation of the students that allows them to exercise
freedom and moral powers.
 Teachers should know their learners.
 Strengthen the child’s retention of facts learned - We use
examples to make more things meaningful. APply concepts
so ideas in the short term memories will be transferred to
long term memories.
 The benefits are given - every opportunity to perform
something is a venue to learn new things
 An Idealist believes that values are absolute. They are not
created by man. Thus it can exist apart from man.
 Constructivism - It allows learners tp construct their own
knowledge / allow them to expose, explore and to gain
experience
 Existentialism - Conceives philosophy as something that is
felt by an individual because it is concrete in itself or based
on what is concrete.
 Pragmatist - Usefulness / Practicality
 Show and explain the components in giving grades - Only
the child’s grade will be verified
 Behaviorism - Environmental events shape the behavior
 Planned actions to start the curricular programs - Intended
(Objectives), Implemented (Activities), and Achieved
(Product of intended and achieved)
 Focus on the ideas for changing the school order
