1 IGEM CONFIGURATION INTERFACE

The iGEM Configuration Interface is used to access the functions and statistics in the Wayne iGEM™ com-
puter. The iGEM computer board is shown in Figure A-1 on page 47. The descriptions of functions and sta-
tistics discussed in this manual are based on iGEM software Rev. 82.00.
Service technicians can access the configuration interface:
● by using the Infrared Remote Control (IRC) shown in Section 1.1,
● by using the touchscreen on the DFS Anthem UX™ user experience platform shown in Section 1.2,
● or by running the Service Terminal Program (servterm) from a laptop computer as explained in
Section 2.2 on page 36.

1.1 INFRARED REMOTE CONTROL (IRC)

The Infrared Remote Control (IRC) is used to access dispenser Functions/Sub-Functions and Diagnostics
(statistics). The IR control communicates with the pump computer by an infrared link to the sensor mounted
on the dispenser’s sales display board behind the bezel. When held approximately 18 inches from the infra-
red eye located in the Sales Volume Display, the IRC can be used to set Unit Prices, Fueling Point IDs,
Blend Ratios, and read Electronic Totalizers.

For iGEM programming, the touchscreen will show the keypad layout
that is identical to the IRC remote control keys used on other Wayne
iGEM computer-based dispensers. The infrared remote control is not
supported on dispensers equipped with the Anthem UX platform.
1. With the dispenser in operation mode (idle state), touch the
screen in the Left and Right locations on the lower corners of the
screen shown below using a left, right, left sequence in rapid

1.3 ENTERING THE CONFIGURATION INTERFACE

The configuration interface asks for a password twice before allowing access to the functions and statistics.
A 10 second time-out is built into the password entry code. When the word PASS 1 appears on the sales dis-
play, enter password and press ENTER. You have 10 seconds to start entering the password. The timer
restarts after you press a key.
PASS 2 appears on the sales display, prompting you to enter the same password again and press ENTER.
The unit price display will show “F - - “, the money display shows the software version number, and the vol-
ume display shows the date of the software version. At this point, you can go to either Functions or to Statis-
tics. To edit or view functions, enter the function number and press ENTER. The function number will appear
in the unit price display. To enter the statistics viewing mode press either the UP or DOWN arrow when the
unit price is displaying “F - - “. When you enter the statistics viewing mode, the unit price display window
shows “S - - “, the money display window shows the current transaction count for side A, and the volume dis-
play window shows the current transaction count for side B. To view specific statistics, enter the statistic
number and press ENTER. The statistic number appears in the unit price display. Note that side A is side 1
(the junction box side) and side B is side 2.
When you enter the sub entry level, the unit price display shows the function/statistic number in the two left-
most digits and the sub level number in the two right-most digits separated with a decimal point. The F or S
no longer appear. The NEXT key advances the display to next sub-function or sub-statistic within the current
function or statistic, however, the UP/DOWN key advances to next function or statistic when F or S is still
showing in the display window. When “- -- -” dashes are showing in the money display, the function is waiting
for numeric data entry, such as unit price, etc. Press the # key prior to entering numeric data.
If you enter numeric data without first pressing the # key, the system goes to the sub-function or sub-statistic
of the corresponding number that you entered. If the number is beyond the range of available sub-functions
or sub-statistics, the maximum sub function or sub-statistic is used.
In summary, the configuration interface is entered by performing the procedure below:
1. Hold the IR remote close to the sales display.
NOTE! The IR remote control is not supported by dispensers equipped with the Anthem UX platform.
Refer to Section 1.2 on page 8 to enter configuration interface using the touchscreen display.
2. Press the appropriate key for the desired login:
○ for Field Service entry using field engineer password press ENTER.
○ for Station Manager entry using station manager password press 1.
○ for Operator entry using operator password press 2.
○ for Weights and Measures entry using W&M password press CLEAR.
3. Type the password _ _ _ _
4. Press ENTER
5. Type the password again _ _ _ _
6. Press ENTER
7. Type a function number
8. Press ENTER

F98 - Download Flash Memory (Download Code to Dispenser)

IMPORTANT! Verify the iGEM computer board part number before loading software!
Starting in July 2021 P/N WM001908-0013 and P/N WM001908-0014 will be used for new dis-
pensers and service replacements. iGEM software version 82.00 is the minimum version for
these boards and requires ServTerm version 7.0.37. Installing a version lower than 82.00 will
require replacing the iGEM board to correct the issue!

This function requires the laptop and servterm, NOT remote control. See Section 2.2 on page 36 for a step
by step procedure. Complete the following steps to use servterm:
1. Enter PASS1
2. Enter PASS2
3. Enter Function
4. Enter Verification Code
5. Select the file
Press ENTER to download a verification code and display the word PASS. Enter the two digit verification
code. The service terminal program on the laptop requests a filename to download. You can browse various
directories and then select the correct (code rev) file to start the download. If you cannot find the file or if
there is a CRC error, the download will abort.
It is important that you do not interrupt the download for any reason - clicking on or opening other items on
the desktop while the download is in progress will cause the download to abort. If this happens, you will have
to load the flash via the bootstrap mode.
When the download is complete, the software executes a warm start which is just like a power cycle. If the
laptop is still connected and the laptop program is still running, the computer will re- enter configuration inter-
face prompting for the passwords to be entered. At this point, downloading the dispenser template should be
done before closing servterm and disconnecting the laptop.
The flash memory programming that is being downloaded contains a default template. If the template that is
currently in the flash is compatible with the new version of program code, the template data in the flash is
preserved. If the template data that is currently in the flash is incompatible with the new version of program
code, the template data in the flash will be overwritten with the default template.

F99 - Download Configuration (Download Template to Dispenser)

This function requires the laptop and servterm, NOT remote control.
Complete the following steps to use servterm:
1. Enter PASS1
2. Enter PASS2
3. Enter Function
4. Enter Verification Code
5. Select the file
Press ENTER to download a verification code and display the word PASS. Enter the two digit verification
code. The service terminal program on the laptop requests a filename to download. You can browse various
directories and then select the correct template file to start the download. If you cannot find the file or if the
there is a CRC, the download will abort.
If the template download is interrupted, restart the service terminal and reload the template. When the down-
load is complete, the software executes a warm start which is just like a power cycle. If the laptop is still con-
nected and the laptop program is still running, the computer will re- enter configuration interface prompting for
the passwords to be entered. At this point you can terminate the laptop program and disconnect the laptop.
After downloading a new template into the flash, a Cold Start using push button S15 must be done to trans-
fer the new template from flash memory to RAM. See Section 2.2 for a step by step procedure.

the format CC.DD.NN where CC = the error/event code in the range 1-99, DD = the device number
associated with the error/event and NN = the logical nozzle 0-8 selected at detection of the event (0 =
none selected). Page 2 shows the event date on the money display in the format MM.DD.YY and the
filling count for the side on the volume display.

S23 (Side A) and S24 (Side B) Transaction History Log

Access statistics S23 and S24 to view the money, volume, and unit price for each of the last 10 transactions.
Sub-statistic numbers are in the format .XX with the range of 01-10 representing the set of transaction
records maintained by the program. The record displayed in sub-statistic 01 is the most recent and 10 is the
oldest. The transaction history records are displayed using a two data page format, alternating between
page 1 and page 2 each second.
● Page 1 shows the transaction sale amount on the money display and transaction volume amount on
the volume display.
● Page 2 shows the unit price on the money display and the transaction volume on the volume display.
S25 Total Number of Power Cycles

Sub-function Description
NOTE! The money display is blank and the power cycle counter value appears on the volume display. Sub-statistic numbers
are in the format `.XX' where XX = the selected sub-statistic as defined below.

3 Statistics

S26 Reset History

This statistic provides information for a software engineer to aid in troubleshooting. It shows the date, time,
reason, and return location for the last 50 resets. Sub-statistic numbers are in the format .XX with the range
01 - 50 representing the set of reset event records maintained by the program. The record displayed in sub-
statistic 01 is the most recent and 50 is the oldest.
Records are displayed using a two data page format, alternating between page 1 and page 2 each second.
● Page 1 shows the event time on the Money display in the format HH.MM. The volume display has data
in the format TT.FFFF where TT = the trap id, FFFF = the value of the trap flag register (TFR) at detec-
tion of the reset.
● Page 2 shows the event date on the Money display in the format MM.DD.YY and the return address as
SS.OOOO where SS is the hex code segment, and OOOO is the hex offset into the code segment.
The return address can be used to determine the PC contents when the trap occurred. This can be
especially helpful for unexpected traps such as illegal instructions, odd word fetches, etc.

Appendix D Weights and Measures Mode - Category 2 ONLY

APPENDIX D WEIGHTS AND MEASURES MODE - CATEGORY 2 ONLY

The following Appendix covers dispensers that are only available as category 2 devices and have iGEM
software version 79 or lower. For software versions 80 and above see Appendix E on page 66.

D.1 GENERAL INFORMATION

NOTE! The following information shows the settings for units with price displays. Units without price displays
will look slightly different as the information toggles using the single volume display.
● Weights & Measures mode provides an audit trail of metrologically significant information that is han-
dled through a W&M Category 2 sealing method. This function is mainly for use by Weights and Mea-
sures officials to view the events recorded in the audit trail related to the Category 2 seal.
● Weights & Measures mode is accessed using the handheld Infrared Remote Control (IRC). To use the
IRC, point it at the volume display within a distance of 12 to 18 inches. While most of the Weights &
Measures mode information is not side specific, for information that is side specific, you will need to
enter the W&M mode pointing the remote towards the display for the relevant side. For twin models
with island-oriented nozzles that have two displays on each side, you may need to sign on again into
Weights & Measures mode to see values for the meter totals for that side. Since the displays for each
“side” of the dispenser show on both the front and back of the dispenser on these models, the software
cannot determine the side of the dispenser by just the location of the remote.
● The Weights & Measures mode is comprised of multiple level menus. The upper level menu allows you
to scan through the various choices that are available. When you reach a category where you want
more information, you can choose that menu to view the additional information. You do not need a
security code to access or obtain information through the Weights & Measures mode. The cabinet
does not need to be opened to access this mode.

D.2 UPPER LEVEL MENU

The upper level menu allows you to scan through the primary categories for the Weights & Measures mode.
Enter this menu by pointing the IRC at the volume display and pressing the “Clear” button. You can continue
to press the “Clear” button until the dispenser leaves the Weights & Measures mode or press “Enter” at any
time to enter the sub-menu of any of the primary categories. The graphic below shows the primary catego-
ries. Each of these is fully explained in the following pages. The “Last Transaction” refers to the most recent
transaction that was run on the dispenser.

APPENDIX E WEIGHTS AND MEASURES MODE - CATEGORY 2 OR 3

The following Appendix covers dispensers that are available as Category 2 or 3 devices and have iGEM
software version 80 or higher. For the unit to be able to operate as a Category 3 device allowing remote
downloads, the dispenser must have an operating internal printer. See Appendix D on page 54 for iGEM
software versions 79 and lower.

E.1 CATEGORY 2 AND 3 IDENTIFICATION

● Category 2: Units that are running in a Category 2 mode must have changes made to the metrologi-
cally significant parameters locally. These changes can be made with the Infrared Remote Control
(IRC) or through the servTerm application run on a local PC. Remote downloads are not permitted.
● Category 3: Units that are running in a Category 3 mode can have changes made to the metrologically
significant parameters locally or remotely. These changes can be made with the Infrared Remote Con-
trol (IRC), through the servTerm application run on a local PC, or remotely through the Payment Termi-
nal. For a dispenser to be run in the Category 3 mode, there must be a Payment Terminal installed in
the dispenser that is equipped with a printer.

E.2 GENERAL INFORMATION

● Weights and Measures mode is accessed using the handheld Infrared remote control (IRC). To use the
IRC, point it at the volume display within a distance of 12 to 18 inches.
● The Weights and Measures mode is comprised of multiple level menus. The upper level menu allows
you to scan through the various choices that are available. When you reach a category where you
want more information, you can choose that menu to view the additional information. You do not need
a security code to access or obtain information through the Weights and Measures mode. The cabinet
does not need to be opened to access this mode.
● If the dispenser is operating in a Category 3 mode, pressing “4” on the remote keypad will cause the
existing menu to print on the Payment Terminal printer.

E.10 AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION (ATC) TESTING

Dispensers equipped with ATC (used in Canada) convert the gross delivery of fuel to a temperature com-
pensated value according to the temperature and type of fuel being dispensed. A switch is provided in the
hydraulic portion of the dispenser cabinet to allow for calibration and testing of the dispenser. Perform the
ATC test and/or meter calibration as follows:
