The Republic Act No 7877 or also known as the " Anti Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 is
a law abided to protect those individuals who are suffering from sexual harassment or
maltreatment while she or he is undergoing training, in education setting and even in working
place. A sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexual advance or conduct on the job that creates
an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment that can affects and destroy the worth
and dignity of others.

Mostly people who can commit sexual harassment are the employee, manager,
supervisor, professor, instructor, and other people who are in higher position or authority in
working place, education setting and in training set up. Most of the possible victims for this
sexual harassment are those students, workers, employees, applicant for employment or those
who are undergoing training. Those people who committed or violated this law shall be penalizes
by imprisonment as abided on anti-sexual harassment of Republic act 7877.

When we have different types of people working together it is important to make an

ethical and moral work environment that is safe for everyone that why this Republic Act 7877 is
a big help for everyone. As we can see how important the role of abided law or the Republic Act
7877 known as Anti Sexual harassment to protect those individuals who are suffering from
sexual abuse in education setting, working place and even under training. This law is design to
make sure that everyone is protected and have a safety environment towards their education,
training and working experience.

Now that I have learned that there is abided law that protected individuals in training,
working, education setting it is serve for me as a advantage specially that we have the right to
comply just in case we will encounter maltreatment or sexual harassment while we are on the job
training. As a social work student, I can also apply the Republic Act 7877 to those clients who
are suffering from sexual harassment to help them out from the situation or experience that they
encounter. As a social work student, it is important to acknowledge and give attention to those
clients who are suffering from this unlawful treatment, I will use this opportunity especially now
that we are on the job training to empower client and inform their right to uplift their dignity and
protect there well-being.
