1.0 Introduction:
2.0 Objectives:
Proper layout makes the worker sound mind, better environment, and
4.1 Process layout: These layouts are also called the functional layouts and are
very suitable in the conditions, when the products being prepared are non–
standard or involve wide variations in times of processing of the individual
operations. Such layouts are able to make better utilization of the equipment
that is available, with greater flexibility in allocation of work to the equipment
and also to the workers. Imbalance caused in one section is not allowed to
affect the working of the other sections.
4.2 Product layout: These layouts are also known as the line layouts or the
layout by sequence. In such layouts, the manufacturing cycle is small with
minimum material handling. The space required is small and quality control is
easy to exercise.
4.3 Project layout: Such layouts are also referred to as the fixed position
layouts. In these layouts, the components, heavy materials, sub assemblies all
remain fixed at one place and the job is completed by movement of machines,
men and tools to the location of the operations.
For planning a layout of knitting and weaving machine we have to consider the
efficient way to arrange the machines. We can arrange those machine anyway
but it will reduce the efficiency of working. That’s why we learned about
planning a lay out plan of knitting and weaving machine. So that we use this
knowledge in future. Mainly we have learnt about the layout plan of textile
factory. We did it carefully so that the measurements be accurate. We
measured the length and width of the room by measuring tape. Also measured
the distance between the machines. After collecting all data we have drawn a
layout of that knitting floor. That’s how we ended up with planning the lay out.
6.0 Conclusion:
The layout corresponds to the sequence of operations, smooth and logical flow
lines result. The work from one process is fed directly into the next, small in-
process inventories result. So total production time per unit is short. Since the
machines are located in order to minimize distances between consecutive
operations, material handling is reduced. This experiment will help us a lot to
solve real life problem. We have gather many knowledge about layout. The
importance of layout . And it is more important in the textile industries.
Because, the textile machineries are placed sequentially for producing more
production and consumption of time by planning proper layout. After all the
experiment will help us a lot in our job sector.
