1.0 OBJECTIVE

 To learn about printing process of polyester fabric by disperses dye.

2.0 THEORY
The printing of textile material is the application of color according to predetermined design. In
direct style the dyes are directly printed at the required places of the fabric. Nowadays screen
printing is by far the most common technology today. There are two types of screen printing
system.

 Rotary screen printing.

 Flat screen printing.

3.0 MATERIAL

 Fabric sample
 Dyes

Table 3.1: Data for dyes with function

Dyes Function Amount
Disperse To provide required color 3 parts
Dispersing agent To remove aggregation of dyes 1 parts
and proper levelling of dyes
Acetic acid To control the PH of the solution 2 parts
Thickener To control the viscosity 75 parts

4.0 EQUIPMENT
 Beaker
 Glass rod
 Digital balance
 Pipette
 Fennel
 Scissor
 Required block pattern

5.0 WORKING PROCEDURE

5.1 Recipe:

Table no. 3.2: Data for printing recipe

Dyes Unit Amount

Disperse dye gm 3
Dispersing agent gm 1
Acetic acid gm 2
Thickener gm 75(10% of thickener is used )
Water ml 19

 Collection of pre-treated sample.

 Preparation of print paste
                *) Dye + acetic acid + Dispersing agent + Boiled water = Paste I
                *) Paste I + Thickener = Print Paste
 Apply the print paste on the fabric surface according to method and style.
 . Dry the sample at room temperature.
 Curing was done at 1400C.
 Soap Wash

7.0 RESULT AND DISCUSSION

After completing preparation recipe we have applied block print on the fabric surface and have
got a better print . At first the print was blited but after a few minutes we have found a better
print .

8.0 CONCLUSION:
By doing this experiment we have learned about block printing process of polyester fabric by
using disperse dyes. Even we have also know about abundant knowledge from this experiment.
We have tried our best to learn as possible as we can .After all this experiment will not become
abortive in future .
