BSENT 4-2 SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Cartaño, Myla

Dayego, Dannielle

Mata, Vincent

Reyes, Trixie

Saberon, Katrina

1. Identify social and environmental issues that you want to address.

 Lack of agricultural machinery
 The prices of agricultural inputs increase drastically.
 Quick changes of Palay prices in the market

Impacts:

 Decrease in the production volume of palay.

 Limited supply of agricultural inputs – good quality of Palay seeds, fertilizer, etc.
 Affects the lives of ordinary farmers

2. Articulate the social value that you think responsive to the above.
 We will create and serve as the founders of a non-profit organization or association with
farmers.
 Helping the ordinary farmers to enhance the quality of agricultural service and improve
their lives.
 Create an employment or job for the farmers, at the same time making an added value
to their output (rice). In order to make a profit not for us or for the association, but for
the agricultural needs of farmers.
3. Define the source of revenue to sustain the social value or social cause.
 Using the farmers output, which is the rice. We will develop a product using rice to sell
by making an added value to it and introduce to the market. We will inform our
potential customers the goal behind selling the product. We choose to make a “brewed
rice coffee” and sell it for a cause. Because 70% of the profit is for the farmers
agricultural inputs, agri-machinery, salary and compensation.
 They can make their own profit from their outputs and also, they can get the support
from the founders of this association, by providing them an agricultural input, agri-
machinery, etc. For the enhancement of their agricultural activities and their lives.
4. Describe the stake holders of the organization.
 Employees – will be the farmers to have the opportunity to work and make a profit in
their own work.
 Founders – who wants to be part of this association to lead them (farmers) in better
future and achieve the set of goals to address some issues facing by the farmers.
 Suppliers - Instead of looking for other supplier of rice, the farmers that part of our
association will be the one who supply rice for the production of brewed rice coffee.
 Customer – potential target market that loves to drink coffee and looking for alternative
coffee. Who wants to support the product because of its social cause behind of it and
they also want to help our farmers to have a better life.
