INTERMIDIATE ENGINEERING SURVEYING – Circular Curve

WEEK6-B - COVID19

1. Two straight roads with incoming and out going bearing were 205° 30’ 30” and 214° 00’ 30“
respectively. A circular curve of radius is 620 meters. If given the chainage of the intersection
point as 3129.75 meters and the chainage interval of 25 meters.
Compute the following :-

a. Tangent length (TL)

b. Chainage at tangent points – Beginning of Curve(T).
c. Length of Curve.
d. Length of Chord
e. Chainage at tangent points – Ending of Curve(U)
f. Number of Chord
i. Initial sub-chord
ii. Standard sub-chord
iii. Final sub-chord
g. The parameters needed for setting out - tangential angle/deflection angle.
i. Initial sub-chord
ii. Standard sub-chord
iii. Final sub-chord

2. A circular curve with intersection angle of 13o 30’ 00’’and 750 meters radius was designed to
link two straight paths. Given the chainage of the intersection point as 2745.72 meters,
calculate tangential angle to locate the curve if chainage interval is 25m.

and the chainage interval of 25 meters, calculate the parameters needed for setting out the
curve using the tangential angles method
Compute the following:-
