 THE PARTIES
Dosa Rolt
• Having founded their oil business Gina 99
Ventures [“Gina99”] in 1857, the Rolt family
transformed themselves from miners in
Dooklyn to one of Pew Dork’s richest
families.
• Dosa Rolt (mother) is the CEO of the
company alongside her husband Kevin
(father). In 2016, Dosa Rolt received the tag
of “Pew Dork’s newest billionaire”. Dosa’s
net worth (as of March 2021) is $5.5 billion.
• Dosa has strong family values and has always
tried to impart the same to her 4 children (3
sons and 1 daughter), one of whom is
Daymond Rolt. As all their children are still in
their 20’s, the family of 6 live together under
the same roof.
• Dosa hopes that after her, her children will
take up the oil business and continue to
expand Gina99.
• Dosa has expanded the oil business from 500
petrol pumps to over 23,000 petrol pumps
across the country of Pew Dork, along with
the two largest oil refineries in the world.

Daymond Rolt
● Daymond is the one of Dosa’s four children
and the heir to the Rolt oil empire. He/she
is the oldest child of the Rolt family.
● Daymond is a graduate of Best India
Technology (BIT), one of the best
engineering colleges in India. Further,
he/she has done his/her Masters from Big
Apple Institute of Technology (BAIT) in
sustainable development.
● Daymond is a philanthropist, who cares
deeply for the environment and runs an
NGO called Green Technology for a Better
Future to promote the use of green
technology like the use of renewable sources
of energy and reducing the use of single-use
plastic etc.
● Consequently, Daymond has always stayed
away from the Rolt oil business, with a
strong opinion against pollutant sources of
energy such as oil.
● Daymond also has no prior experience and
little interest in running the oil business in
the future.

 GENERAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION
With exponential growth in the Rolts’ wealth
over the last few years, Dosa has been scared
that “outsiders” may take advantage of her
children for their inheritance. In order to
protect them from such situations, Dosa
writes in her will that her children will only
receive their share of the inheritance if: (a)
they marry someone of Dosa’s approval; (b)
their children and their spouse continues to
live in the joint family and; (c) the children
agree to run the Rolt oil business after Dosa
and Kevin’s retirement.
Dosa is getting old now and wants Daymond
to take over the business from her and scale
it to even greater heights. Daymond feels that
it is against his/her principles to get into the
oil business since he/she advocates against
the use of the fossil fuels and
environmentally harmful products.
Instead, Daymond starts his/her own
company Renew Energy, which focuses on
the generation of electricity through
renewable sources of energy such as
hydropower, solar energy etc. Within 3 years
of the launch of Renew Energy, the company
sees immense growth.
Daymond plans to further expand his/her
company. This requires a lot of investment
and many Venture Capitalists have come
forward to fund the expansion since
Daymond is part of the Rolt family.
However, with a strict policy against using

his/her family wealth/contacts for ReNew
Energy, Daymond decides to divest part of
his/her stake in ReNew Energy through an
Initial Public Offering on the Pew Dork
Stock Exchange. The shares are set to list on
the stock exchange in April 2022.
Daymond had pledged to use 90% of his/her
income to further the interests of Green
Technology for a Better Future. The NGO
has recently been in the news for protesting
outside the Parliament demanding than an
Act be thrown out as violates the sanctity of
the environment. During one such protest,
Daymond met Dake, one of the most
prominent campaigners for sustainable
development and fell in love.
Dosa had already started looking for other
industrialists’ sons/daughters for Daymond’s
marriage, as the tradition of arranged
marriage was still prevalent in their
household. Daymond was extremely against
this concept but Dosa made it clear that she
did not trust the intentions of Dake to marry
into the Rolt family. Daymond made it clear
that he/she would only marry Dake.
Due to these differences, the relationship
between Dosa and Daymond soured and
Dosa threatened to cut Daymond out of her
will. Daymond moved out of the family
home and began living with Dake in a shared
apartment. This story was twisted
and exaggerated in the news and the entire
Rolt family was casted as “elitist”. It lead to
the boycotting of Gina99’s petrol pumps and
the ReNew Energy team has advised
Daymond that this negative press may
severely impact the listing of the company’s
shares.

Both Dosa and Daymond have agreed to

meet at the mediation tables, represented by
their counsels to solve the issue.
