LEARNING OBJECTIVE By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. Understand with support the main idea of very simple phrases and sentences
2. Name or describe objects using suitable words from word sets
ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON 1. Teacher plays a true/false game to review colors.
2. Students stand up when the sentences is true and sit down when it is false.
3. Teacher point to e.g a green object in the classroom and say it’s red. Students
don’t stand.
4. Teacher repeats for the other colours in the room. Teacher makes some
sentences true and some false.
LESSON Activity 1( SB page 10)
DELIVERY 1. Students look at the the picture in their SB.
2. Teacher plays the recording.
3. Students point to the objects and the words when they hear them.
4. Teacher plays the recording. Students repeat the words.
Activity 2(SB page 10)
1. Students answer the worksheet with teacher’s aid. (Remedial)
2. Students answer the worksheet. (Reinforcement)
3. Students answer the worksheet and become facilitator for students in the
remedial group. (Enrichment)
POST LESSON 1. Teacher displays the flashcards around the room.
2. Teacher says an object and students point to the flashcard.
3. Teacher says words quickly one after another, repeating some more than
once.
4. Teacher points to the flashcards at random for students to say the words.

ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON 1. Teacher draws picture of classroom things.
2. Teacher writes the wrong name and asked students to correct it.
3. Teacher repeat until all the words and pictures match.
LESSON Activity 1( SB page 10)
DELIVERY 1. Teacher give students time to look at the pictures first.
2. Teacher plays the recording. Students listen and number.
3. Students check in pairs.
4. Teacher plays the recording again and check the answer with the class.
5. Teacher reads each set of questions and answers for students to repeat.

ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON Guessing game. Think of an item, pupils ask you about what colour it is and guess,
e.g. Teacher: It’s a fruit. Pupils: Is it blue? No. Is it yellow? Yes. Is it a banana? Yes.
Depending on time available and the level of your class, you could have the pupils
take the role of the teacher or work in pairs.
LESSON 1. Put flashcards with words of the six main colours (primary and secondary)
DELIVERY on the board. Ask pupils to put them into two groups.
2. Play/sing the song and ask pupils to check their answer to stage 1.
3. Draw a circle on the board and divide it into six parts. Elicit the primary
colours and write them (or ask a pupil to write them) in alternate parts of
the circle.
4. Elicit the secondary colours that are made when the primary colours are
mixed and fill in the last three segments with these. The order should be:
red – orange – yellow – green – blue – purple.
