ICT Competencies (Task 6)

Task #1 5 points
Select five (5) principles of learning Chosen ICT Related Course:
and be able to specifically apply Information Technology (IT)
them in an ICT – related course. 1. Readiness
Readiness implies a degree of
willingness and eagerness of an
individual to learn something new.
Students taking up IT as their course
should fit the standards under
readiness, always be ready to learn
something new because technologies
are evolving day by day. Individuals
learn best when they are physically,
mentally and emotionally ready to
learn and they do not learn well if they
see no reason for learning.
2. Innovation
Gijs Van Wulfen said that an
innovation is a feasible relevant
offering such as a product, service,
process or experience with a viable
business model that is perceived as
new and is adopted by customers. The
needs to use technology each month is
increasing; all technologies were being
updated every release and updates
should have something new compared
to its old version.
3. Intensity
The more intense the material taught,
the more likely it will be retained. A
sharp, clear, dramatic, or exciting
learning experience teaches more than
a routine or boring experience. The
principle of intensity implies that
a learner will learn more from the real
thing than from a substitute. Likewise,
a learner is likely to gain greater
understanding of tasks by performing
them rather than merely reading
about them. Individuals under IT
course needs more actual
performance than watching them and
reading them online for the reason
that different technologies have a lot
of tools that works them, it will
be better and easier to learn if it’s
done actual.
4. Recency
The principle of recency states that
things most recently learned are best
remembered. Conversely, the further a
learner is removed time-wise from a
new fact or understanding, the more
difficult it is to remember. For
example, it is easier for a mother to
recall what children were fed this
morning than to remember what they
were fed three days ago. Recency
when applied to IT course is also
important because just like what I said
on number
3, IT’s had lots of tools to understand
in every technology, they must know
how to code everything, and they
must do programming efficiently. So,
the solution for this recency
disadvantages are it should be always
thought.
5. Exercise
Exercise should be applied to students
under IT course because exercise
makes things that are most often
repeated are the ones that are best
remembered. As a possible future
teacher of the subject ICT, I will not
forget to always let them have their
practice at least once a week, your
audience will learn best and retain
information longer when they have
meaningful practice and repetition. It
is clear that practice leads to
improvement only when it is followed
by positive Feedback. The human mind
is forgetful and it can rarely retain,
evaluate, and apply new concepts or
practices after a single exposure.
Audiences will not learn
complex tasks in a single session. They
learn by applying what they have been
told and shown. Every time practice
occurs, learning continues.
