One of the most important tasks of a caregiver is to make sure that he/she uses the right
equipment, tool, or paraphernalia that is applicable to a specific job. You, as a future
caregiver, therefore, should be well versed with the different tools and equipment that you

Pail

a round-shaped, handled container with a

handle that is used for carrying water

Basin

a container that holds water and is used for

washing

Dipper

used to scoop up water from a pail or bucket

while washing,

Laundry basket

a hamper that is used for holding dirty

clothes for washing or wet clothes for
drying.
 Soap case

a shallow, open container or platform where

a bar of soap may be placed to dry after
use. 

Washing Machine

An electric appliance which is used for

washing clothes and linen.

Dryer

A machine or apparatus that removes

moisture through ventilation or heat.

Clothes hanger

Resembles the shape of a person’s

shoulders and is used to hang garments
on.

Ironing board

A long, narrow padded board often with

collapsible supporting legs used as working
surface for ironing.

Ironing mat

This heat-resistant mat easily turns a flat

surface, such as the top of a washer or dryer,
into an ironing board.

Flat iron

An electric appliance which is used

along with ironing board, to iron or press
clothing, fabric
