BED The heavy ribbed double walled bed of the TUR series assures a solid foundation to, resist the bending and torsional forces created by the cutting process. All four integral bbedways are induction hardened (to minimum 48 HRC) and precision ground. Bedway cchutes lead chips into open pans at rear of lathe for easy waste removal. A three-position spindle lever at the car riage and headstock provides smooth starting or stopping of spindle rotation (orward or reverse). The rearof the cross slide has parallel T-slots for mounting a rear tool post. Compensation for wear is provided by adjustable gibs.
