A city is an exciting and glamorous place with lots
of opportunities, living in the city implies living in an
extremely modern life, people in a metropolitan area live
their lives with comfort and ease since the city is filled with
the most luxuries and facilities particularly with diverse
cultures, nationalities, and socio-economic and commercial
backgrounds. In the Philippines, a city in the south-central
Luzon lies one of the most highly urbanized cities in the
country—Makati. Makati City is a home of a busy, top, and
notable central business district, it is a huge city known for
being a contemporary and cosmopolitan place making it the
Financial Capital of the Philippines.
As people from the rural area gets attracted to it,
some people from the city also gets attracted to the life in
the province, the client who is in an urban community wants
more of nature and the local life in Batangas. Given the fact
that this pandemic put everyone in a challenge and made a
huge impact with the way everyone lives their lives, having
a provincial life where there is peace and to occasionally
take a break from work and the city’s amenities is what the
client mainly looks for due to this situation.
This report is designed to provide details on the
property, the spaces that will be included in the design, and
the design's purpose. This explains the relationship
between the design's flow of spaces, the matrix diagram,
the bubble diagram, and the anthropometric measurements
considered during the design.
The National Ancient Institute (NHI) declared the
historic and renowned town of Taal, Batangas as a
"Heritage Village" through Resolution No. 02 dated
September 30, 1987. According to MacKay and Crompton
(2018), The abovementioned declaration strengthens the
principal goal of preserving and safeguarding the rich
cultural assets and structures inside the Heritage Village
and buffer zones, as stated in PD 1505 amending PD 260
and Article 14, Section 14 of the 1987 Constitution of the
Republic of the Philippines. Taal's cultural heritage has
been rediscovered as a valuable marketing asset for
attracting tourists interested in heritage and the arts.
Heritage must constantly evolve, redefining itself creatively
and seeking engagement in key goals such as conflict
resolution, intercultural dialogue, and poverty alleviation. As
a result, legacy tourism will be able to connect with new
generations of tourists who want to learn from the past, as
well as challenge and modify it where necessary.
A couple with two adoring children is looking for a
second house. They intend to construct a single-story
vocational house on San Nicolas Bay Walk in Taal,
Batangas. Since his company is in Makati's prime business
district, the client opted to have a holiday house that would
provide a tranquil and refreshing experience while keeping
him connected to his work.
In San Nicolas, Batangas, the property is a
640 sqm lot with a flat topography. The construction of
the BAY WALK, which will eventually connect all of the
municipalities and cities that surround Taal Lake, has
sped up development along the Taal shoreline. The
property's left side is lined with bungalow residential
dwellings, while the right side is lined with beautiful
vegetation. On the north side of the property, there is a
lovely view, and the owner proposed that they use
Barangay Road as their car entry. Taal Volcano, on the
other hand, boasts a spectacular panoramic view, but it
is also one of the most dangerous, as it is the
Philippines' second most active volcano. As a result, the
structure and design must be sturdy enough to resist
the likelihood of a future volcanic eruption.
The vacation house is a contemporary modern
house. The house will be divided into three parts: the
public area, private area, and the family gathering area.
The public area includes the main lobby, office room for
the owner and his clients, powder room and a common
toilet. The private area where the bedrooms are located
is in the middle of the house. While the family gathering
area is located on the north part, wherein the dining
room, family hall, lanai, and the kitchen is placed
Anthropometrics is the study of human physical
measures and capabilities in comparison to other
species. Anthropometrics is based on the premise that
architectural designs should adapt to the human body
rather than vice versa

Modern House design and construction details
will make or break your project. It is all in the
architectural details. Every piece of hardware in the
house should be thought out. All the materials need to
be planned. Every product from windows and doors to
tiles and cabinets need to work together in harmony.
The vacation home will be built at the Taal Lake's edge.
The presence of natural and consistent air movement in
the vicinity of the location site indicates that the home
should have a powerful ventilation system that allows
cool air to enter from one side and exit from the other.
Large windows and doors are ideal for optimal airflow.
Because casement windows allow you to use the entire
window opening to evacuate stale indoor air, they are
the best choice for windows. Jalousie was employed in
the eating area because it provides a very natural
atmosphere. The entry door and the family hall to the
lanai will both have glass doors to allow natural light in
and retain the ambiance feeling. In some tropical
regions, concrete blocks, in-situ (cast-in-place)
concrete, or masonry bricks are preferred. The
materials in a framed building system, such as wood,
metal, and cement boards, cool quickly. This method
creates a more relaxing sleeping environment.
