NOTE: If the OS version is already at the update version then it is not necessary to update again; you may install
just the application file. The OS 107 and OS 108 are equivalent for existing installations.

Information about the Software, Product or System:

This is a cumulative firmware release, and as such, contains all functionality from all previous releases. This
release of NetAXS-123 R6.0 also includes new features noted in section 2 below.

Systems that use both NetAXS-123 and NetAXS-4 should also ensure that the NetAXS-4 panels have version
R3.6.25 with OS #375.

• Able to add cards and common data to the Primary panel if a Secondary panel is registered but is off line
• Panel time changes resulting in improper door lock/unlock

• Panel is not responding within the stipulated amount of time for the command which ISP sent resulting

• Temporary Employee card is displaying as "Visitor" in the card report.

List of Issues Resolved (05.02.72 Production Release):

• Time synchronization issues between NetAXS and MPC. After time sync, the panel seems to jump 1 hour
ahead of the actual time.
• Incorrect error when deleting card not added to the database yet.
• Panel process watcher logic issues – people locked out of buildings.
• Password change required multiple times. Subsequent logins after changing the default password to
secure still results in required change.
• NetAXS-123 defaults to the incorrect Server URL for MPC of mymaxprocloud.com/login and should be
isom.mymaxprocloud.com/isom.
• Special character in Reader, Input, and Output is not working on Sync Door / Config upload.
• Clicking on the "Force Baud Rate" displays "One moment please…" forever.
• The Default Gateway IP is incorrect after the panel is defaulted.
• Sometimes panel will report future date causing system to go to an unexpected state.
• Add support command to change the ISOM URL from MPC.
• Add support for PUT commands for updating record ID so duplicates will be avoided.

List of Known Issues and Workarounds:

• Readers 2, 3 and 4 showing offline on downstream NetAXS-4 (in mixed loop configuration).
o Workaround – Hard default primary panel and reprogram.
• Geographic timezone does not get set in downstream NetAXS-4 (in mixed loop configuration).
o Workaround – Configure downstream panel as primary and set Geographic timezone manually.
• Sometimes when the user launches the panel UI in a new Chrome window, it may display “Site cannot be
reached” then will take about 2 minutes to display the Sign In page.
o Workaround: User should wait 2 minutes for the login page to display.
• Non-Admin web users cannot log in after upgrade.
o Workaround: After upgrade the Admin user may log in and reset the passwords for the other web
users.
• Cycle Power of Panel Required Before “B” Reader Will Work
o Restart the panel manually after enabling B reader.

• WIN-PAK XE/SE/PE R3.3 (Build 670.21 or higher) natively supports NetAXS-4/NetAXS-123.
• WIN-PAK CS R4.2 (Build 1017.33 or higher) natively supports NetAXS-4/NetAXS-123.
• NetAXS-4 R3.06.25 is supported as RS-485 secondary panels to NetAXS-123 primary.
• Upgrading using WIN-PAK is currently supported.

III. Firmware UPGRADE PROCEDURES:

Overview

The following procedures provide step-by-step instructions for upgrading NetAXS-123 controller. The software
upgrade consists of an application firmware update (performed first) and OS108 version (performed after the
application firmware update).

Upgrading the firmware can involve the following actions:

• Backing up the database from each panel

• Updating the panel firmware (Using Web Interface)
• Updating the OS 2nd in series, if necessary

IMPORTANT: Recommend to back up the database before and after the firmware upgrade.

Planning for the Firmware Upgrade

Note: The Secondary panels must be upgrade first in any order and then upgrade the Primary panel last.

Plan for approximately 12 minutes to upgrade 1 panel. In order to reduce the time required to install this version
on your “Secondary” panel, each panel can be removed from the loop and configured as a "Primary" panel
(disconnect the RS-485 before making it a Primary) by following these steps:

Primary:
Installing the new App File
1. Navigate to the web server Panel Configuration > Advanced > File Management > Upload (To Panel).
2. Under Download (To Panel) click Browse to locate the application bin file.
3. Select the file and click Download. Click OK to continue. Once the "Download to primary panel complete;
now processing the image" message pops up, click OK again.
4. You will see the Download to primary panel complete; now processing the image message once again. Click
OK. This time a reboot will be triggered and you will see the message: "The Panel is now rebooting. Wait 4-5
minutes, then click Refresh and log back in."

Installing the new OS File

1. Navigate to the web server Panel Configuration > Advanced > File Management > Upload (To Panel).
2. Under Download click Browse to locate the 2-NetAXS-123_Upgrade_OS108.bin file.
3. Select the file and click Download. Click OK to continue. Once the "Download to primary panel complete;
now processing the image" message pops up, click OK again.
4. You will see the "Download to primary panel complete; now processing the image message" once again. Click
OK to continue. This time a reboot will be triggered. It will take approximately 2 minutes for the reboot.

RS-485 Drop line:

Step # 1. Configure Secondary panels as Primary and manually “Reboot”
Step # 2. Upgrade the firmware
Step # 3. Configure the panels back to Secondary and manually “Reboot”
Step # 4. Upgrade the Firmware in the Primary
Step # 5. Confirm Secondary panels are line with the Primary

Ethernet Virtual Loop (EVL):

Step # 1. “Unregister” the Secondary panels
Step # 2. Configure Secondary panels as Primary and manually “Reboot”

Step # 4. Configure the panels back to Secondary and manually “Reboot”

WIN-PAK Firmware Upgrade Procedure:

Step # 1. Navigate to Operations \ Control Map and right click on the NetAXS Primary panel to download.
• You can download the firmware only if you have logged on with admin privileges.
• The latest firmware is available at C:\Program Files\WINPAKPRO\Firmware\releases.

How to Clear the Cache and Cookies in the Internet Browsers used by the NetAXS-123 Web Server

It is recommended that the cache be cleared following a successful upgrade.

PLEASE NOTE: After upgrading a NetAXS-123 panel to Rel 6.0 you must clear your browser’s cache.

To clear browsing history in Google Chrome, press these 3 keys simultaneously: Ctrl + Shift + Del

Then, ensure that the selections pictured in the following popups are chosen and click “Clear Data”.

3.5.8 – NetAXS-4 and NetAXS-123 panels dropping communication on a 20-panel loop and need to cycle power to
the panel to establish communication. A fix was made in the NetAXS-123 host communication application.

NetAXS-4 panels went off-line. We discovered a global anti-passback bug causing NetAXS-4 panels to go off-line
because of ghost anti-passback messages. The same bug existed in the NetAXS-123 and was fixed in this build.
This build addresses an issue where high volumes of card activity with global anti-passback will cause RS485
communications failures.

3.3.11 – Maintenance build: WIN-PAK Communication

• Communication issues with WIN-PAK were fixed by reducing the timer value for PB strings (from 30
seconds to 25). Because of Network delays, it was possible for WIN-PAK to receive the PB strings in over
30 seconds. Note the latest release of WIN-PAK allows the user to configure this value.
• PCI3 – NetAXS-123 after running for a while (4-12 hours) the P and B strings would occasionally show the
panel going offline. Issue was found in the PCI/Host communications (not the PCI-3) and was fixed.

3.3.10 – Indala readers have a Pulse Width or Pulse Space that will work with controller board but will not work
on IOB (Timing issue).
