PART 1 (50 pts.)
1. Who is Sigmund Freud and give his contributions in the field?

` Sigmund Freud was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a

clinical method for treating psychopathology through dialogue between a patient and a
psychoanalyst. Freud was born to Galician Jewish parents in the Moravian town of
Freiberg, in the Austrian Empire. His contribution was the following:
1. Oral Stage (birth to 18 months)- The child is focused on oral pleasures (sucking).
2. Anal Stage (18 months to 3 years)- The child finds satisfaction in eliminating and
retaining feces.
3. Phallic Stage (ages 3 to 6)- The child is interested in what makes boys and girls
different.
4. Latency Stage 7(age 6 to puberty)- The sexual urges remain repressed. Boys
usually relate more with boys and girls during this stage.
5. Genital Stage (puberty onwards)- The sexual urges are once again awakened.
The adolescents focus their sexual urges towards the opposite sex.

2. Differentiate erogenous zone from fixation.

The difference between Erogenous Zone and fixation, an erogenous zone

is characterized as an area of the body that is particularly sensitive to stimulation. ... A
fixation is a persistent focus on an earlier psychosexual stage. Until this conflict is

5. How will you apply the Freud’s Psychoanalytic Theory

in the field of learning?

Freud’s Psychoanalytic Theory is very helpful to us, especially in the field of

learning. As future teacher I need to know different strategies to know what to do in
different attitude of a children. Children has unique characteristic and as a teacher we
need to observe and discover what the things they do in order to us to guide them.
