➢ What: Ministry of heavy industries has notified the Scheme on


Enhancement of Competitiveness in Capital Goods Sector – Phase 2.

➢ Why: To provide assistance to common technology development and


service infrastructure
• Objective
▪ Creating a strong and globally competitive capital goods
sector that contributes at least 25% to the manufacturing
sector
▪ Creating a self-sustaining eco system for research and
innovation for manufacturing technologies
▪ Providing infrastructure for testing quality of processes
• Ministry – Ministry of heavy industries

• Launch year – Phase 1 in 2014; Phase 2 in 2022

• Financial outlay – Rs.1207 Crores (Budgetary support – Rs.975
