1. Does all programs/courses were completed on time. Yes
2. Measures taken to complete the syllabus of courses and programs. Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College(KGNC), a constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) Deemed to be University regularly
enables teaching learning for UG&PG programs through both offline and online modes using in-house learning platforms. SBV’s
Learning Management System – Ganesha’s Canvas (elearn.staging.sbvu.cf) is a software developed by our University which is a
sophisticated system built on evidence based pedagogic principles that allows students to follow problem based learning,
collaborative learning and continuous evaluations. As classes were suspended due to COVID 19 pandemic the institution has fully
switched over to the online teaching to complete the syllabus for all 3 Nursing programs viz., B.Sc(N)/P.B.B.Sc(N)/ M.Sc (N) from
March 2020 onwards. The online modes that were used by the Institution to complete the syllabus for all three programs were
Zoom, Google classroom (GCR) and Learning Management System(LMS).The faculty members were sensitized to use the
online platforms(ZOOM, Blue button etc.)through workshops .
The students were also asked to download the Zoom App, GCR App. in their laptops/mobile phones. Faculty members delivered
lectures through online(ZOOM platform) and also were available online during interactive sessions. Queries were clarified by the
teachers then and there. The classes were scheduled from 9am- 4pm from Monday- Saturday. The duration of each class was
for 45 minutes with breaks in between. Online demonstration of Nursing procedures was taught by the faculty members.
In addition to this as per the directives of the TamilNadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC) Chennai , all Institutions were
asked to use the Free Google Classroom facility. PowerPoint and other study materials were uploaded in the GCR. The teaching
materials were permanently stored in GCR and the students had an advantage of learning the content at their own convenience.
Nine model exams were conducted from June 2020 onwards. The teachers hosted the Question papers in the morning as per the
schedule given to the students in advance. The students were asked to take up their examination and they uploaded it by 5 pm
everyday. Assignments and quizzes were also posted in the Google classroom. The evaluation of answer scripts was done by the
teachers, and this helped us in providing internal assessment. The Head of the Institution had provided a report and the weekly
attendance was also sent to TNNMC.
The Academic Coordinator kept a track on the number of sessions that were held for each subject and monitored the student’s
attendance. They ensured that all portions were covered in all subjects. Any IT related issues were analyzed to ascertain the
quality of curriculum delivery.
The institution with the support from the University thus put the best of its endeavor to ensure that the syllabus was completed in
time by August 2020 despite few challenges faced.
