ECO RESORT

DEFINITION:
A holiday resort designed to have minimal impact on
the natural environment; it would be a lodging facility that takes steps
to reduce its carbon footprint while giving back to its local community.

AIM:
To study about eco-resorts, which responds to the climatic and energy
consumption issues raised by the present day architecture through
eco-sensitive design strategies.

OBJECTIVE:
The main objectives of ECO RESORT design study is to reduce, or
completely avoid, depletion of critical resources like energy, water,
and raw materials; prevent environmental degradation caused by
facilities and infrastructure throughout their life cycle; and create built
environments that are liveable, comfortable, safe, and productive.

Buildings use resources (energy, water, raw materials, and etc.),

generate waste (occupant, construction and demolition), and emit
potentially harmful atmospheric emissions so the main objective is to
create building design which is accessible, secure, healthy, and
productive while minimizing any negative impacts on society, it should
result in net-positive benefits to all the areas.

METHODOLOGY:
1. Information about resorts in detail.
2. Information about the types of resorts.
3. To collect info on functional requirements of resorts.
4. Collect information about eco –resorts in specific.
5. What are the design strategies that are used for building an eco-
resort?
6. Passive solar design options
7. To collect information about the materials and technologies
which is used in an eco-sensitive design?
8. How can the nature be integrated to the building, in order to
make the building more environmental, social and economic?
9. Literature studies and case study analysis.
