Reaction paper about Native Pig Production with DA-BAINSPRDC under college
“BaSaKa: Babuyan Sa Kanayunan Project"
Also, in this webinar I see the capability of native pigs over the standard
pigs. Compared to imported pig breeds, native pigs are easier and cheaper to raise
because they are well-adapted to local conditions and do not require expensive
housing and care. They are only fed with organic materials available in the
household or farm like food wastes, vegetable scraps and plant leaves. Native pigs
can be an alternative when it comes in meat production. Native pigs have thin back
fats and meat that is high in lean. Native pigs can eat high-fiber diets, and their
grass foraging contributes to their pork's well-known quality. Today’s webinar I
actually encouraged by the speaker to raise native pigs because it has many
advantages. As a youth, as agriculturist student major in animal science I want to
try and raise native pigs. Native pigs have many capabilities and potentials. It can
be a business and there is money. In this webinar I’ve learned about raising native
pigs.
