(Improved Native Chicken Raising)

Beneficiaries: Mothers – Cotabato Province (to bee piloted in Patadon, Matalam)

Rationale: Nowadays, everything, both goods and services, is expensive. Family members ought to have
complimentary income. Mothers not excemptioon depressed, find other source offincome to help
meager income of huisband to help support family needs. Mothers, as well as children, need to have
productive time/income even without leaving the house, family, and household chores. To solve this,
women and children must be given income generating prohect without necessarily leaving the hime. |As
such, native chicleem ra sing can be an aswer; hence, this project proposal.

General Objective: To find alternative complimentary income for mothers and children even without
leaving the home. Thus minimize??????

Specific Objectives:
1. Maximum utilization of mother and children’s backyard area aand time;
2. Source of additional income of the family members;
3. Source of meat among family members to promote good health;
4. Minimize women (especially mothers) going abroad;
5. Children to learn means of obtaining alternative income at a young age’

Methodology:

-Start at 5 hens per beneficiary, including children, maximum of 30 hens and 2 roosters per household
-Build chicken house using raw materials in the village
-Use appropriate recommended chicken raising technologies, health, nutrition and management
-Avail visitation of College of Veterinary Medicine- faculty and extension specialists per month – to check
project health and nutrition
-Matalam as pilot municipality
-1st pilot area per barangay as starter
-Patadon, sitio as supply of purebred pawakan/basilan layers/hens
-1 pilot project per barangay – in upland community
