Ss identify passages of the author's text that predict the end of the story. 
Ss compare their prediction with the author's ending.
Ss write alternative endings to the story.

PRE-Reading
We will ask the students what do they think about this story in general if the

knew it already ori f this is the first time they Heard of it, we will disscus the

answers in pairs.
BEFORE READING

1.-students will read only the half of the story the monkeys paw

2.- Students work in pairs to answer the question, "If you could have one wish,
what would you wish for?"

DURING READING

 what are students doing WHILE reading, viewing, or listening?

1.- Students identify and highlight text that supports their prediction about how the
story might end.

2.- Students pair with a partner to draw conclusions from the highlighted text and
come to a consensus about their predictions.

3.- Students finish reading the story and compare the ending with their own
predictions.

4.- students will create an alternative final about the story

Students will share their new ending with their classmates
