Recently, the number of report about bullying among children has risen. The type of
the case also gets even various and worse. Some of them even end with sexual abuse and
death. This issue definitely is not something we would take lightly.
Bullying cause bad effects for both side of those who are bullied and also those who
bully. Children who are bullied usually show negative changes on their behavior and also
on their physical condition. Some of them might experience depression and anxiety which
lead them to experience more sadness and loneliness. They also might experience changes
in their pattern of sleeping and eating which caused them to have health problem. All of
this effect usually have major effect on their achievement at school, some of them even
drop out of their school.
Children who bully others will also experience some negative effect from their actions.
These effect will be brought until their adulthood. Some of the effects are: tendencies to
consume alcohol and drugs when they are adult, tendencies to have violent behavior toward
people around them, properties around them and even tendencies to be abusive toward their
romantic partners in the future. In short, children who bully other will have tendencies to be
criminal in the future.
As an adult or parents, I believe we do not want those effects happen to our children.
As a recommendation, I suggest we deal with this issue seriously whenever we see any
bullying happened around us.
Jakarta Post. New European research has found that men who are taller in young
adulthood may have a lower risk of dementia in old age.
Carried out by researchers at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital, the University of
Copenhagen, and the University of Southern Denmark, the new large-scale study looked at
data on 666,333 Danish men born between 1939 and 1959, including 70,608 brothers and
7,388 twins, which was gathered from Danish national registries.
The researchers not only looked at the men's body height, but also whether other
factors could impact the risk of dementia. Lead author Terese Sara Hoj Jorgensen explained
that "We wanted to see if body height in young men is associated with diagnosis of
dementia, while exploring whether intelligence test scores, educational level, and
underlying environmental and genetic factors shared by brothers explain the relationship."
The findings, published in e-Life, showed that a total of 10,599 men developed
dementia later in life. In addition, the researchers also found that there appeared to be a-10
percent reduction in the risk of developing dementia for around every 6cm of height in
individuals above the average height.
After the researchers took intelligence and education into account in their analysis, the
association between height and dementia risk was only slightly reduced.
They also found that there was a relationship between height and dementia even when
they looked at brothers who were different heights, which they say suggests that genetics
and family characteristics alone do not explain why shorter men had a greater dementia
risk.
"Together, our results point to an association between taller body height in young men
and a lower risk of dementia diagnosis later in life, which persists even when adjusted for
educational level and intelligence test scores," says senior author Merete Osler says. "Our
analysis of the data concerning brothers confirms these findings, and suggests the
association may have common roots in early-life environmental exposures that are not
related to family factors shared by brothers."
Osler added that they cannot be sure if the findings are generalizable to women, as
previous studies which have investigated whether there are differences between genders in
regard to the relationship between height and dementia have so far proved inconclusive.
30. This research is purposively designed to male gender. …., the findings cannot be
generalized to the opposite one.

Dear Freddy,
It was a real sorrow that I heard this morning of your great loss. I knew your mother was ill,
for your brother, Dodi, told me several weeks ago. However, as he at that time did not seem
to think the illness was very serious, the news of your mother’s death came to me as a
shock.
You have my sincere and heartfelt sympathy, my dear fellow, in your sorrow. I know you
will feel it deeply, for you always thought so much of your mother and loved her so truly. I
feel it also as a personal loss to myself, for your mother was always very kind to me. Her
death must be a terrible grief to your father, too.
Please assure him of my sincere sympathy.
Words, I know, are poor comforters. “The heart knows its own sorrow”, and in such
sorrows we are always alone. However, it is not mere words when I say that I feel with you
in your sorrow.
