LESSON PLAN IN ART APPRECIATION

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the discussion, students should be able to:
 Identify the elements of visual arts
 Describe the characteristics of line, shape, texture and their value
 Classify color and describe how it is created.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Review past lesson

B. Motivation
The reporters will present different pictures and allow the students to give their
own interpretation.

C. Discussion
The Reporters will discuss the different elements of visual art and give examples
of great artworks that featured the said elements.

D. Activity
The reporter will ask the students to choose one of the different expressive
qualities of lines and relate it to theirselves and they will share it in class.

E. Analysis
The reporters will show different picture/gif that featured different elements. The
students will guess what element that particular picture possesses.

F. Abstraction
The reporters will ask the students what have they learn from the discussion.

G. Application
The students will draw something they can see in their house using at least two
Visual Elements of Art.

IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Write T if the statement is true and F if false.
1. Shapes can be used to control your feelings in the composition of an artwork
2. Pattern is the roughness or smoothness of the material from which it is made.
3. Form is the physical volume of a shape and the space that it occupies.
4. Color is the visual element that has the strongest effect on our emotions.
5. Tone is the lightness or darkness of a color.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Direction: In 1/8 illustration board/ long bond paper, draw a place that you want
to go. Apply the 7 elements of visual arts.
