My favorite Filipino film / television series (teleserye) is “Through Night and Day ”. The main
characters are Alessandra de Rossi and Paolo Contis . The setting is in Iceland. I like how
the events of the movie/ teleserye were presented because. The plot is very realistic and
definitely not your typical rom-com . The conflict of the story is Jen’s inconsistent
decision, her insensitivity and changeable mind. It was resolved when Ben is about to
marry, he found out that Jen had a brain tumor . I think that the writer's purpose was
achieved for the reason that many people got hurt at the ending and many people learn
that no matter how much a person loves you, they also get tired too .

B. Directions: READING TIME! You will be reading a famous Greek myth. Be sure to do
the tasks needed to be done.
Knowing the following words will help you as you read Orpheus. Remember to define
these words using the dictionary:

1. Inspiration - a person, place, experience, etc., that makes someone want to do or

create something
2. Lyre - a stringed instrument of the harp class having an approximately U-shaped frame
and used by the ancient Greeks especially to accompany song and recitation
3. Entranced - the means or place of entry
4. Condemned - pronounced guilty and sentenced to punishment
5. Summoned - to call upon for specified action

What I thought…  I thought that the story is

boring and it doesn’t have a
moral lesson.
What I want to remember…  I want to remember that
Orpheus immortalizes
Eurydice through his music
insuring that her story is still
told today.
What I have learned…  We must have trust in order
to love. None of us will be in
Orpheus' shoes for a journey
to the genuine afterlife, but
most of us will have to
confront a "hell" when our
love is challenged and only
trust can keep us alive.
