Our Work "A Healthy Mind Resides in A Health Body": Athleema
Sports not only contribute to physical health but also enhance social and personality
development. It helps in enhancing leadership skills and in improving capacity for goal setting
and character building. A student, who is active in sports, will naturally have greater self-esteem,
improved social interaction, and a more positive outlook on life.
The Asian law college conducts intra-university events ranging from on-field sports like
basketball, football, cricket, badminton, hockey, throwball, volleyball and tennis to indoor sports
like carom, table tennis and chess.
The Asian law college organizes ATHLEEMA, law school’s annual 3-day sports fest which
attracts massive participation from across Delhi and it is the biggest law school sports fest with
participation of more than 500 students every year.
Students are very active throughout the events and also participated on the management of event
which include indulging the sponsors for the event, team management, anchoring. The skill they
develop through sports helps them to accept all defeats as well as wins. Hence, students who are
involved in games and sports are in a much better position to deal with tough situations. It helps
in building skills
Plans for AY 2020 - 21
Asian Law College (ALC) organized its much-awaited 8th edition of the mega annual inter-
college sports event – ATHLEEMA 2020 – on 21 st-23rd January 2020 at the imposing Netaji
Subhash Sports Complex, Jasola, New Delhi along with a generous punch of excitement and
grandeur, much accentuated by the glorious presence of the Indian football legend, Mr. Baichung
Bhutia as the chief guest for the occasion.
The competition, like earlier years, was open to all similar colleges & institutes located in the
Delhi NCR region. In all, 50 top colleges of the metropolitan capital city enthusiastically
participated in this sports spectacle.
Asian Law College (ALC) – actively participated in this high-pitched athletics’ meet.
The inaugural function on 21st January 2020 started with the auspicious torch-lighting ceremony,
ignited by the chief guest, Mr. Baichung Bhutia; After this, the distinguished dignitaries on the
dais inspired the participating students with some zestful speeches.
Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava (Director, ALC) inspired the participants with his encouraging
welcome speech, Addressing the energetic young audience, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President-
ALC, a highly acclaimed international media personality, charged the ambiance of the occasion
with his customary inspiring speech delivered in his inimitable style laced with the rendition of a
few motivational couplets. Talking about the ever-increasing participation of colleges and
students in ALC’s Annual Sports Meet, ATHLEELMA, Dr. Marwah disclosed his “wish to make
it a truly National Event in the coming years.”

Prizes were given away by these distinguished guests along with ALC President, Dr. Sandeep
Marwah; the Directors of ALC, namely Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, who aptly complimented and
applauded the winners.
The “Golden Boot Award” in Football went to karanveer of BA.LLB and the “Man of the Series
Award” in Cricket went to Aayush bharadwajalso from BA.LLB. The ‘ALC” Sportsperson of
the Year Award’ for boys and girls went to Jatin Rathee of LLB in the male category and Ilma
Khan in the female category

Delhi NCR-based one of the largest centers for law Asian Law College (ALC) organized its
much-awaited 7th edition of the mega annual inter-college sports event – ATHLEEMA 2019 – on
13th-15th March 2019 at the imposing Jasola Sports Complex, New Delhi along with a generous
punch of excitement and grandeur.
The competition, like earlier years, sought participation from colleges, institutes and universities
from across the country. In all, 35 top colleges and universities enthusiastically participated in
this sports spectacle. Asian Law College (ALC) – actively participated in this high-pitch
athletics’ meet.
THE POWER GAME OF TUG OF WAR ADD FUNS TO THE ALC’S 7 SESSION OF
ATHLEMA
A very special award – ‘Sportsperson of the Year Award’ for boys and girls separately – was
initiated this year to galvanize students into adopting sports earnestly. This coveted award carried
the prestige of being given to a student who was exceptionally active in all quarters of events and
activities throughout the year and worked towards team building and motivation. The proud
recipients of this prestigious award for this opening year were Astha Arora and Vinayak sharma
of ALC in the female and male category respectively.

Delhi NCR-based one of the largest centers for law Asian Law College (ALC) organized its
much-awaited 6th edition of the mega annual inter-college sports event – ATHLEEMA 2018 – on
19th-20th Febuary 2018 at the imposing Jasola Sports Complex, New Delhi along with a generous
punch of excitement and grandeur.
The competition, like earlier years, sought participation from colleges, institutes and universities
from across the country. In all, 30 top colleges and universities enthusiastically participated in
this sports spectacle. Asian Law College (ALC) – actively participated in this high-pitch
athletics’ meet.
Volleyball competition
Plans for AY 2016-17
Asian Law college organizes “Athleema ”on 21st July 2016. Variousactivities covering various
sports like Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis and Tug of War
were organized among the students of the college with objective of bringing them on a common
platform where they are encouraged to develop team building, group dynamics and
sportsmanship by participating in these sports. Overall participation of the students was very
encouraging with about 180 of them taking part in various sports activities during the course of
day.
There were participants from more than 40 schools and colleges across Delhi NCR.The colourful
March past was full of enthusiasm. This was followed by the formal inauguration of the various
sports categories. All the participants looked forward to a healthy competition.
