Think Paper

Over time, globalization continues to occur around the world. Along with this are
changing the decisions of each country that can affect each other.

After the war of the nations especially the cold war, the international society in
which countries practice independence and sovereignty regardless of its status. Countries
are free no matter what form of government, political ideology, culture and pattern it
treads.

Along with this, international law and balance of power also emerged. When the
192 members of the United Nations reached an agreement, they formed an agreement
called a global covenant whose core values are independence and non-intervention
between countries.

In my reflection based on what I read in chapter two the global covenant for the
maintenance of peace between nations is a good idea. It is good for the welfare and
tranquility of the international community which includes rich and poor countries. But like
all agreements it is also not perfect. Scholars have many arguments here based on the
evidence they have gathered. There are many questions about this but the important thing
is that it promotes respect for human rights regardless of which country you are in.

What I realized in chapter 3 and 4, in which I read about the conflict between
nations because of their beliefs and ideologies, is that there is a pattern that can be
repeated in the future. It may not be possible to repeat the rise of a Hitler in which so
many brutally murdered especially the Jews but the war of ideological nations is still
possible. Marxists from then until now continue to oppose liberalism and capitalism
especially in this time of the emergence of neo-liberalism.

There are many questions when it comes to international politics that can find the
answer in international history. Questions like who was responsible for the rise of the
Nazis, who won the cold war and so on such as how Europe maintained peace after 1945.
I think the answers to these questions continue we must look for it because the differences

of each country still exist. However, I agree that globalization still brings more benefits
than its disadvantages.
